Does anyone know how to change a password for the forum side? I can't seem to find that option. (Mine doesn't change when I change the account password.)

Thanks all.

Login is the same for both sides so if you go to the Collarme side and change there it should change this one as well as the sides are linked by the profile you created...

Thanks for the response, SinFix.

My username is the same on both sides, but my passwords are different. I've tried changing my password on the other side, and it doesn't change the password on this side. That's my problem.

I'll try my best to explain some of the "kinks" related to this side (collarchat) and the other side (collarme)
When you create a profile on the other side, it automatically gives you full access to the forum and the chatrooms,
simply by clicking on those tabs that are listed on the left side of the page. No additional user name/password is needed.

If someone wanted to just participate in the forum, they could click on the Login up in the top right corner, and
then press on New User. However, it would then take them to the other side to create a user name/profile, before
gaining access here.

The only way I think you could have crossed paths with your password is perhaps you have that little box below
the log in here on this side that says "save as a cookie". Let's see if we can test that theory.

Step 1. Click on My Profile on the top right of this page, then scroll to the bottom and be sure the box that says
Save my Log In and Password as a Cookie is not checked.

Step 2. Log off only on this side, and then come right back and click on Log In. Below your Login is another
Save As Cookie box. If it is checked, uncheck it, log in, then log off again.

Step 3. Go to the other side and log off. Come back here (by clicking the Message Board tab) and make
sure you are still signed off here.

Step 4. Close any other internet windows you may have open, and clean out your internet cache/cookies.
If you aren't sure how to do this, this link will help you.

Step 5. Log back in on the other side, click on Message Board, post a random comment in any thread of your choice.

Step 6. Log off on both sides. Sometimes, if you log off on this side first, and then log off on the other side, somehow,
you are still magically still logged in over here. Soooo...log off over there first, and then here.

Step 7. Log in ONLY on this side, using the same user name and password as you do on the other side, and cross your fingers.

In the event this doesn't do it for you, please contact support, which is a blue link that can
be found directly below the bunch of random profile photos on the other side.
Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, Poise.

In " Step 5. Log back in on the other side, click on Message Board, post a random comment in any thread of your choice. " I'm not able to post anything to the message board (This forum, correct?) after logging into the other side, since I am not automagically logged in to this forum as a result of logging in to the other side.

Also, I forgot to add that the link for resetting one's password on the login page for this forum seems to be broken. I've tried that, and it's not an option.

poise -> RE: Passwords. (2/6/2013 7:06:18 PM)

Yes, I meant here in this forum. Did you try step 5 after following the first 4 steps?

I was hoping that those steps would remove whatever additional password was glued to your forum login.
There is no password reset button on this side (the forum side), so I suppose your only other option is to contact support. :(

tommonymous -> RE: Passwords. (2/6/2013 7:20:35 PM)

I did go through the first four steps before step five. Even all in the right order. [;)] Thanks for trying, poise and SinFix, I appreciate your sharing my misery. (Oh, the humanity!)

Actually, if you enter your correct user name at login, but an incorrect password, you get a link to "reset password" as one of the options. And clicking on that brings up a friendly old 404 page. So, there's no option to reset a password, but it seems like there once was. Or at least there once was the thought that there ought to be an option.
