He's definitely a keeper. Even after 13 years together, he still continually amazes me.

Don't get me no fuckin' flowers. I much, much prefer wine, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and a good salmon dinner. Diamonds are cool too. Since Daddy is in Oregon, we're gonna take the dogs to the beach when I go up there in two weeks and have a candlelight picnic, and make sand castles. It will be my best V-day to date.

Last year, M gave me a TENS.

(we're not together anymore)

This year, I plan to buy myself roses:

I'm always curious when people say that.

Ever since my mother told me, "EVERY day is Children's Day."

Why would you want your partner, bf, or husband to get you something or be romantic because he felt "obligated" to. I want him to do those things because he wants to do those things. Not because it's expected of him.

I love presents but I would rather not do anything on Vday and get a random gift on some random day.

Oh believe me, Master and I make every single day count but even so, it's still a nice excuse to get dressed up and maybe go out for a nice dinner that we normally would not do since we usually eat at home these days, or go someplace we normally don't or do something fun and just get out. It's just something fun and nice.

I mean, sometimes when you both work and you both have busy schedules, life can just run away sometimes. Things like this just kinda give you a shove, a boost when you both look up from your work and say "ooohhh....yeah....we both need to stop for awhile and breathe".

My daughter and her boyfriend have the cutest Valentine's Days. Last year she built a tent in their bedroom with cushions and blankets and Christmas lights all around it, made him a fantastic dinner and there was a note posted to the tent that said "what happens in the tent, stays in the tent". hahaha. I thought it was so funny and cute. I'm so jealous that she comes up with such fabulous ideas!

i've never been one for going over board on valentine's, however it would have been nice if in the past my ex had made an effort in some form. after cheating on me, and me being stupid enough to take him back, we were spending some time apart during the week while i was seeing if i could trust him again. that valentine's we were out at a shopping complex and went for something to eat. his idea of romance was to offer me him moving back in as a present i told him no. he didn't get it that that wasn't a fucking gift to offer in the first place, but most certainly not on his part. that was the only time that i got actual flower shop flowers instead of some from the local super market. now don't get me wrong; there is nothing wrong with flowers bought from anywhere, but for many years i only got anything if it came from the local super market, and flowers only if he's screwed up. it was the lack of effort, and thought that got to me more than anything else.

i really do love fresh flowers, and no-one ever buys them for me, but the best flower i have ever been given is straight across the room from me. i got home one day to find the postie had left a package for me over the gate. on opening i found a handmade black leather rose from a certain someone as an early birthday present for someone that professes to not be romantic, to have no intention of romance behind anything he does, the things he has done are actually the most romantic i've ever had. these things though have nothing to do with valentine's day.

i noticed that LW said that Kana asked her what she wanted for valentine's. that question at any time will always get the answer of 'nothing' from me. i don't want a gift because i asked for it. i only want a gift that you put some effort, and thought into for me because you wanted to.

needles

Is your ex my ex? If so, wonder why he thought that shit would work twice?
I feel you, and I know what you mean about the leather rose :)

I went out for girls' night, had a giant crabcake and a piece of Key lime cheesecake and I feel like a tick. Not completely related, except it was my V present to ME! hehehehe....

I hate Valentine's Day; too much pressure. No valentine for me this year. :(

However, I have wanted that rose flogger for years.

One thing though, anytime you talk about having a holiday, someone, somewhere, will say that they don't "need or want it" because every day is a special day.

I like special days. I'm awful at remembering anniversaries and the like, but I will always be up for a special dinner or a little pampering to celebrate, say, Laugh and Get Rich Day (which, by the way, is today) or Read in the Bathtub Day (which, by the way, is tomorrow). I used to be back and forth on days like Valentine's Day, but I made a decision quite awhile ago to celebrate life, and that includes all the dopey shit that goes with it.

Except Groundhog Day. Groundhog Day is stupid.

Groundhog Day is like the best! Hey, I'm a Pennsylvania girl! How can you not be excited when Phil comes out and you hold your breath and hope he does not see his shadow?

Plus it's a great excuse to watch the movie "Groundhog Day". I love that movie!

Wait, do you live near Punxy? I lived in State College and in three or four other places in Pennsylvania.
Groundhog Day is a big damn deal up in the North and Western parts.

Working in the restaurant industry Valentines equals really super busy. I like it, I like romance and love. Anything I can do to facilitate that is okay by me. If I were not working, I doubt I would want to go out that night. I likely would rather hide indoors and have a nice meal and not leave the house at all. Go out another date to celebrate rather thanwhen the whole western civilization is doing the same.

My favorite one was:

Master bartered auto repair to a man that was a personal chef for one of the football players, to come and make us dinner at our house.

We had filet mignon with giant tiger prawns, grilled asparagus, and a Valrhona chocolate tart with raspberry sauce. It was amazing and romantic having a candlelight dinner in our own home.

Your master is a baller dude. Writing this down in my wishlist.

The only thing I actually asked for (for Valentine's Day) was a mic lol because mine is broken.

Nelee find you a nice chef, they will cook you whatever you want, WHENever you want!!

I grew up about 45 mins from State College, a small, tiny town between Johnstown and Altoona. And yup, it's a big thing back there. But so much fun.
