A unicorn is a single bisexual female who seeks to join an established couple, and is involved with both of them, sexually and emotionally. The term is particularly apt when the couple in question is a male-dom/female-sub couple.

They're called unicorns because such a person is only slightly more common than, well...a unicorn.
