MasterDontPlay -> why (2/9/2013 9:14:26 AM)

Why do so many blk slaves and subs call themselves the n word to be with racist white masters what's the infactuation with discracing yourself and your race. Our ancestors would be turning in their graves to see how. So many blk women are today can anyone tell me what's going on

TheLilSquaw -> RE: why (2/9/2013 9:19:30 AM)

OP,
Race play, is enjoyed by many. Myself included.
It doesn't make me a racist or mean that I don't respect myself or my ethnicity or my people's history. Or anyone else's.

If race play offends you don't participate in it.
If profiles which state they are looking for race play, or a racially based relationship bother you, hide them.
Or have racial or ethnic nicks hide them.

Words only have the power that we give them.
Btw... I know many strong, black men who would say that the word that can't be used due TOS isn't a derogatory term.

Some have told me that calling myself a squaw, is me not respecting my culture or people. Which is silly, because it wasn't a negative word until it was stolen and mis-used.

servantforuse -> RE: why (2/9/2013 9:23:24 AM)

In my everyday life I see every one as equal. In my other life I prefer serving African American women. Acting out fantasys has nothing to do with being racist.

TNDommeK -> RE: why (2/9/2013 9:28:42 AM)

My friend calls his wife " the squaw". Lol

xLaChienne -> RE: why (2/9/2013 9:33:56 AM)

Why do grown people want to be spanked?

Why do people get of on being called "whore" "slut" "hole"?

The point is, it doesn't matter why. If you aren't into then you aren't into it. It doesn't mean that it's disgraceful. It's a kink. Just like any other.

I honestly didn't know that 'squaw' was used as a negative word. Not that it really comes up in England, but it's good to know.

So if a children's story made mention of a girl as a squaw, would that be horribly politically incorrect nowadays?

Subano -> RE: why (2/9/2013 10:25:00 AM)

Just like a good spanking, the word means whatever it means to the person receiving it.

Exactly.

OP, who says these people are disgracing themselves anyways? Many people heavily into racial play in their lives and who are we to judge if they are racist or not?

OsideGirl -> RE: why (2/9/2013 10:42:57 AM)

I once had someone explain it like this:

When you make it a backdrop for kinky sex, you're taking the power out of it. It no longer has the power to induce fear or rage, when you know it's a prelude to kinky sex.

That said, there are a couple of profiles on the other side, where it's painfully obvious that their racism is real. They actually hate other races and the profile is disturbing, in which case I report the profile for vulgarity.

No, it wouldn't be automatically politically incorrect. It would depend on the context and time period of the book.

It was used as a derogatory term in the 19th - 20th century against women. It was also used as a derogatory term against men, which meant a man who did woman's work.

In the 70's people took the word and used it when describing a woman's vagina.

All well and good except now, some of the words are being codified as hate speech.

MissBlueangel -> RE: why (2/9/2013 10:55:59 AM)

People in England still refer to mixed race as half caste.
Not correct but they do.
And since they usually referring to my children it boils my pee-pee[:@]

Again... I agree. People have allowed other's to steal words and change their meaning. They have begun to punish those that use the word(s) correctly out of fear and simply being naive IMO.

My grandparents do this. And say 'coloured'. I know that they are just using the words that, for most of their lives, everyone used and they don't mean it to be offensive. In fact, they are both sweethearts and have a lot of friends who are from Uganda and Zimbabwe, they'd be very upset to think that they were hurting people's feelings. I've gently mentioned that we don't use those words anymore, but it's like they genuinely don't understand that times have changed.

Not race, but it always makes me cringe when someone in my husband's family says 'retarded' or 'handicapped' which to my ears are awful, mean words. But it seems to be a cultural difference between England and Wyoming.

LilSquaw - thank you for clarifying. I definitely have memories of playing games as children where we called ourselves 'squaws'. I never knew it as anything other than a word for a Native American woman. We also used to say 'red indians' which as an adult I know is a non-PC term, but I never gave squaw another thought.

MissBlueangel -> RE: why (2/9/2013 11:09:58 AM)

Everyone in my tiny town think "coloured" is polite.
Mind compared to some of the stuff they say they right

TheLilSquaw -> RE: why (2/9/2013 11:21:49 AM)

Athena,

You're welcome.
It's funny. I get emails periodically claiming that because I use the word squaw in my nick that I have to be full of self hate, which is funny. To me it's the total opposite it is me being proud of who and what I am.

When I was growing up.
My uncle used to call this group of men crickets.
For a long time I didn't realize it was him being insulting.

So simply because a certain group use the word cricket in a derogatory manner does that mean other's shouldn't use it correctly? I don't think so.

theshytype -> RE: why (2/9/2013 12:55:57 PM)

When I first saw your title, I immediately thought 'why not' in my head.
It still stands. If that's what they want to refer to themselves, you'd have to ask that specific person, but in my mind it's little difference to if I referred to myself as sweetheart or bitch - its my preference.

MasterDontPlay -> RE: why (2/9/2013 3:48:13 PM)

Everyone has made good points on this subject if it is just for kinks to get u hot and horny that's understandable diffrerent things turn diffrerent people on but when come straight out and say u want someone with racist tendacies to come and take their racist ways out on u and dont mind them treatin u dirt when so many before u fought and died to get out of that type of world it changes how the situation is when you're willing and wanting to reenter that world that's why I say its being discraceful and dishornarable to our ancestors

TheLilSquaw -> RE: why (2/9/2013 3:52:56 PM)

OP,
Let me ask you something.

I am a known footie.
I love feet, okay not all feet but in general.
Feet are sexy.

However, I have done humiliation sessions with foot guys..
Where I insult them and tease them for liking feet.

Say things like, "foot guys are pathetic" ect.
Does that mean that I secretly hate feet?

(according to you)

What does this have to do with your OP?
Well to me it isn't any different than me,
Participating in race play and calling a someone an ethnic slur.
Or having someone call me an ethnic slur in race play.
