In this case, the distinction between deputy and police is irrelevant. Both are trained to the same standard. Under that standard, the main thing that could justify what is seen on that tape, would be proving an unseen danger... i.e. the alleged gun. In *general* it is considered a good approach to problems, to correctly identify the components. The 2 years seems a bit long to go with no reports of a lawsuit, or a civil rights investigation, etc. quote:
