That is seriously reaching. I'm sure it hasn't occurred to you (and this is admittedly hypothetical) that he has no interest in BDSM whatsoever other than the fact that he can make money in porn from it? So no, being someone's boss who makes the rules doesn't "in effect" make them the dominant. Or is your boss also your dominant because he makes the rules and sets the policy for the company? Again, ridiculous.

Its is interesting that people demonize people for things they themselves do. I mean really look at tiger woods. I've met him - at NY Bondcon in 2003 - his interest in BDSM is genuine. It always astounds me that not more of you know who he is and how he revolutionized BDSM porn - challenged obscenity standards and persisting that there is nothing wrong with what we do - or that we might want to watch it. I am sad to hear about the arrest, and hope it redirects his current path. His past path deserves our respect.

Maybe that is because I am not a big porn watcher. I personally don't care if he "genuinely" enjoys BDSM or not, and really that isn't the point of the article either. Frankly, I'm always surprised that people think being into BDSM means you should also be some sort of spokesperson for it, and porn. He makes porn, yipee for him. I have nothing against pornography, but that doesn't mean I should know the players.

Well that would explain a lot (not being a porn watcher). Because 10 yrs ago, it was almost impossible to find anything in porn representing anything near what we live in real life. A lot has changed since then, and he can be credited for a lot of that change. There was a time when one could only find videos of women writhing in ropes - and nothing more. I expected to find more open minds here. I would hate to be judged by the sum of one circumstance.

First of all, porn is not supposed to represent "real life." It's fantasy, that's the point. As for open minds, people here are the same as everywhere else, they just have kink in their lives. Personally, I don't think this man's arrest has anything to do with BDSM. If he has a cocaine problem, I hope he gets some help. But people thinking this puts a "bad light" on BDSM are people who tend to think anything about BDSM in the news puts a "bad light" on it.
