I don't have this fear just yet..my boys are 9 and 12. But when I was 16 my dad tried to teach me, he yelled at me for everything, I pulled over got out and told him to go home without me...............ummm he was so pissed he did, lol i had to walk home 4 miles....oh i didnt like him for quite some time and I failed my road test twice....gave up till i was 24 i think, took a few paid lessons, cause my husband refused to take me (thanks dad for filling his head with bullshit lol) and passed on my first try...so the moral of this is....unless you want to cut all ties with family or get a divorce pay for professional lessons lol
