Marini -> State of the Union Anyone? (2/13/2013 6:42:52 PM)

I like to skim the topics, even when I am in a "rarely posting" phase.

No, State of the Union thread?
Really?

Are you all THAT unimpressed?
I heard about half of it, also I have listened to commentaries on what President Obama said last night.

I will admit, it did sound very much like many other speeches/and other State of the Union addresses from President Obama.

Anything anyone?
At least comment on the "job creating" initiatives such as building bridges and working on the infrastructure/or raising the minimum wages?

........listening to the crickets chip........

Here are some highlights from that very credible news source, the Huffington Post.
Updates from State of the Union Address

Not likely. if it were something life changing it would be on the news in an hour anyway.

I pretty much quit caring about 1 year ago. I'm just waiting for this mother fucker to finally hit the ground... which it will [:)]

Rubio was ten times more entertaining....[:D]

servantforuse -> RE: State of the Union Anyone? (2/13/2013 7:32:19 PM)

Rubio got more attention for having a sip of water than Obama got for his entire speech.

No. We've just heard it all before, and understand how empty it is. Reruns suck, and Dorner was live.

Dorner did appear to upstage the state of the union address.

Actually......Dorner was dead by then....wasn't he ?

FR
Rubio looked like he had flop sweat and he's usually
such a confident little showboater. It must of been very
cheering for Bobby Jindhal to witness.

Well after the last four years, what could any 'state-of-the-union speech really tell us anyway ? I am just wondering if the continuing repub intransigence and obstruction will get them more in both houses after Obama's first term resulted in less of both houses ?

but everything is coming up roses!

we have a government by the people and never see one damn referendum on any bill in the modern electronic world, but what the hell we at least get to pick our "leaders" who with the international financiers are running this place right into the ground. Who the hell was it that went to war over that again?

I will give a fuck the day they change this into a country where we actually get to vote on bills and have the final say over these asswipe courts. Until then its we the government and this is out of my hands and I dont give a fuck, same shit different day.

the state of the union

Great free pub for the water company.

I agree with Rich, the state of the union speech is pretty much for show, and devoid of great meaning.

I'm not unimpressed or impressed with the President's speech. Its that he kept asking Congress to do something....useful....and......positive....on behalf of the American people. Thanks to the childish and petty games of the GOP, Congress is in total gridlock. Not just on the big ticket items, but stuff that should pass a vote without even so much as an after thought (i.e. approve 'X' number of interns for Senators and Representatives next semester). These Republicans could give a shit less what happens to the nation. They created the problems we are STILL suffering through over a decade later. Their solutions are laughable and absurd, fit for one in a fantasy land rather than reality. So until the population of the nation demands Congress (Republicans in particular) to get off their collective asses and do something, giving a stiff penalty for failure (i.e. executions), we are not going to see much getting accomplished in the next two years.

I dont blame the President for Congress's failings one moment.

Best.... "they Deserve a vote....."
Funniest.......Boehner Visibly cringing.
Most telling....[image]http://sphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/379239_10151290693376275_766554873_n.png[/image]

I would go into more, but its obvious the cons dont wanna discuss it,, which is more telling than all the rants they could have come up with... so its hardly worth the effort to put on my bitch head...sighs
Happy Valentines day Everyone, con/pub/ lib/dem/disinterested, etc

The important part,IMHO was the good news...that we are coming out of the bush-shit-storm and making gains.....The DOW is about to hit an all time high...
