Im getting the generic faq reason that I didnt use my real name- which they dont allow you to use anya name not your legal name, or that I was using my.account to harrass ppl or impersonate someone.

None of which I did. I used my legal name too.

Now they are telling me if I want my account un disabled I have to show them my ca id.

Fuck that nonsense, they can keep the account, its not that hard to make a new account.

who else though has had their fb account wrongly disabled?

This kind of thing was actually just on the news a few days ago on a call kurtis episode.

Obviously your profile came into question for what ever the reason.

They told you how to rectify the situation and get the account un-deleted.
You are making the choice not to do that.

Life is about choices and consequences.

Btw... there are situations where even CollarMe and Fetlife may require to see ID to keep a profile active or take certain actions.

Facebook has wrongfully closed ppls accounts before, like I said it was on the news 13 just the other night.

I wouldnt show collarme staff my ca id either. That is my personal info they do not need. I would let them delete my account and I would make a new one.And one of the only reason they would want it would be to prove I was not underage. If that was ever underquestion. Which it is not.

Or they better be able to proove they have some other legal reason to be asking and back up the proof.

Anyone demanding to see my CA ID better have a legal right to see it, or be a buisiness I am doing buisiness with or my drs office, otherwise not happening.

I wonder about 'wrongfully' - surely facebook can close any account they want to? It's not a right to have one.

I agree they may have made a mistake but I'll bet somewhere buried in the terms and conditions they retain the right to terminate any account without notice or reason.

Having a Facebook profile isn't a RIGHT.
So how can they "wrongfully" close an account.

Their TOS is VERY clear that if you violate the letter or spirit of their terms of service that they can stop providing Facebook to you.

ETA: You stated that it's not hard to make another one.
You are right. However, IF Facebook deletes your account and you create another one without their permission. According to their TOS they can and will delete that account.

I have 2 Facebook accounts.1 is my regular account, the other is my "fetish" profile.I have had my fetish account suspended before due to some pictures. So naturally,I have to keep the pictures I put on my fetish facebook account "descent".With sites like Collarme and Fetlife, people who sign on to these sites,at least has an idea that these are fetish ADULT sites.Facebook on the other hand,is open to the general community and thus,I have to keep that in mind.I've had my fetish facebook account for almost a year now with over 2000 likes.I use facebook because it does reach a much larger portion of the population.

Well when you haven't done anything wrong, none of the things they list as a reason they'd close your account, I consider it wrongfully closing it.

Of course that could be just me. My pictures are of me, they're completely G rated, the pictures of my dog and my animals and other stuff I post I have sole right to post them, I'm not impersonating any one, I'm not using my account to spam or harass others it's not a fake account made up as a joke for my dog, or my teddy bear or any other not me entity that face book will not let you do, I used my legal name, I'm not saying or doing anything FB would consider nasty. Etc

I haven't broken any of their TOS's

The girl that contacted call kurtis about it on news 13 hadn't done anything wrong either and they closed her account, and she asked can they really demand to see your ID to get your account back, and the answer was basically yes, you can comply or not, that's up to you.

They believe you have violated their TOS and frankly that is what matters.
They have told you how to rectify it.
You are choosing not to do as they ask.
Which is your right.
Just as deleting your profile and denying you access to facebook is their right.

Even in your posts here you talk about how you WOULD violate their TOS so you saying you didn't violate their TOS is hard for ME to believe.

Weird. When i made my facebook page ages ago, i didn't use my real name. Back then, i just never put my real name on the net. I have had that name so long, more people know me by it. I listed my real name on facebook, just a year or two ago, because i just dont care about that stuff anymore.

I never had a problem with my identity being questioned. Probably because i only have a very few and select people as friends.

It isnt anything i would get all righteous about, but for someone who uses it daily and stores their virtual life on it, i guess i can understsnd how it might feel like an issue worth taking a stance on.

That reminds me, haveng checked myfb in a few days (weeks?)

ETA apparently I didnt use my real name here either. OOPS

Nothing2seehere, I talked to my SIL, and i kept updated on the dog rescue group where I volunteered and got my dog from. It's not a huge loss, but I do do believe in things being "fair", and when you haven't broke any rules deleting the account is not "fair".

But facebooks not the only way to keep up on the two I follow, so it's not like it's my whole world lol.

I am far more invested in fet and collarme.

Yup. Read their terms. It's plain as day. They don't need a reason and there's not a thing you can do about it. It's not like you're paying for the site. The same thing goes for collarme or any free site. They don't have to do anything and it's not wrongfully because there's nothing wrong with it. It's their right.

ETA: If you're expecting fairness in life, you are going to be sorely disappointed. Nothing in life is fair. Get used to it. Otherwise you're gonna be one miserable gal your entire life.

Did you ask them why the deleted your account? What specifically they found to be at fault? They don't just delete for the hell of it. I'm betting you were posting things that were not allowed or someone reported you.
