Seriously, can we have a birth that isn't immediately followed by a death?

I used to like this series, but the implausibility of it got to me in the end. And they kept getting rid of the nice-looking actresses.

Maybe next time, they'll have the death first.

i loved downton to start with, and i did watch most of the last series, but i had to turn off when what you mentioned happened. apparently though it's because the guy playing the part has left with no chance of coming back. it was not actually written to be like that originally. i'm not sure i'll bother watching any more though.

Duuuuuuude! I wanna watch this and have never seen it. I looked all over tv for it. I don't have PBS I don't think. How can I find this??

Our library system has it on DVD. Maybe yours does as well. Netflix and Amazon Instant Watch are two other possibilities.

Amazon Instant Videos has seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 is available on PBS.org

Technically they aren't "getting rid" or actors. They were all optioned for 3 years and some have chosen not to renew in order to pursue other opportunities.

If I were in that family I'd seriously think twice before ever becoming pregnant.......

The only "Abby" I care to see is on NCIS.

Odds are actually fairly good that you do have PBS in your location, but it might be under a different name. Take here for example. In Oregon, our PBS is called OPB. I took a peek at your profile for your location and based on that, see if you can find a station called KETS 2 (part of the AETN).

I felt like, "Alright, they got his business acumen and his sperm, so they don't need him anymore."

It was stupid, and I felt like they had just done that plotline.

I'll probably keep watching the show just because my wife will want to, but really, I'm bored of it and not much interested in a grieving Mary.

It's on Netflix if you have that.

Sadly it was the actor that forced that plot line onto the script writers. He decided that he wanted to take his chances in the USA as a lot of actors in the UK try to do after they have a small amount of success here.

I just watched the first episode of season three (again) and when Mary kissed Matthew the night before the wedding, she peeked! She doomed him, that wench!!

FR
The actors who played the characters that died wanted to
leave the show and seek greener pastures. Don't blame her
at all the actress must have been bored to tears. One of the
downstairs actresses isn't coming back next season but I doubt
they kill the character off.

I like the show ok but I don't think the writing is all that
great and most of the upstairs characters aren't that
interesting to me. I don't like the character of Mary or
the actress who plays her. So I was never invested in
the M&M storyline. My favorite characters are Mrs Hughes
and Thomas(the best male eye candy). And I like Hugh
Bonneville, Penelope Wilton and Maggie Smith and the
actors who play Bates and Anna. I think the actors are
better than the writing. It's a soap which I'm fine with
but sometimes it's a dull, muddled soap.
