This, in my opinion, rates right up there with a perfume and men's cologne fad in the early 80's, natural musk. The problem was that after a while, the persons own natural scent would mix with the perfume or cologne and the mixture of scents was not very pleasant.
There was also this thing with "ambiance" air fresheners, including the smell of a bar.
Since I have a reaction to most perfumes and colognes, and dont wear them, I kind prefer the unscented or lightly scented woman. If she is smells like she took a bath in the stuff, I actually get physically ill, headache, nervous stomach, etc.
This idea sounds like I would get ill just being around it.
