The audio feature on the site makes use of Adobe Flash, which is not directly supported on most mobile platforms. So, you are not doing anything incorrectly; audio in journals will not appear on the mobile site.
As for the audio greeting, the site notes that it may take two hours for the greeting to appear after recording, so I'd give it some time. I'd also verify that the recording was successful by visiting the Audio Greeting link again and confirming that a greeting is present (it should say "You have an audio greeting" and provide an option to delete it rather than to record one). If the greeting still hasn't appeared on your profile within a day or two, you could try support as suggested: Support Link.
