aspiringutahdom -> Professional Dominatrix Legal in Utah? (2/22/2013 6:47:45 PM)

I am an aspiring Dominatrix and would like to know the legality of starting a Dominatrix house in Salt Lake City, Utah. I've researched briefly and couldn't figure it out. I know the necessity of retaining an attorney to get a complete answer on Utah laws, but was wondering if anyone knows off hand.

It would depend on your local laws, zoning and such.
Checking with an attorney is your best bet.

You have to do your own foot work because location is a huge determining factor in legally opening a BDSM / Fetish club.

Also checking to see how the state you plan on setting up shop in defines prostitution.

That would fall under local laws. [;)]

So basically at this point, you don't know anything about being a dominatrix (except possibly some reading), but you want to open your own "house" and need to know if it is legal in your area.

I'm sorry, but considering you are admittedly inexperienced, and a mere 25, I really have to wonder exactly how you would have the funds to open such a house (which would require a fully equipped dungeon if I'm not mistaken to be really sought after), and there is just you, or a bunch of 25 year olds who "aspire" to be a professional dominatrix?

Free legal advice is worth exactly what you paid for it. Open up your purse and talk to a lawyer.

The concept of "legal" really isn't the only applicable standard. Even if it is legal, it wouldn't take much harassment from the local cops to put you out of business. You'll have to gauge the local cops as well.

I'm not a Professional Dominatrix, but I would think that doing that online might be your best bet. Cheaper too. I've seen Dommes on here talk about Western Union or Paypal. I can't offer how good these services are since I've had no reason to use either.

You left out the mormons that would probably roast her on a spit outside the temple

I can't imagine a more difficult city to try and run that business.

I was thinking the same thing.

Hmmm, maybe not. All those "pure" Mormons? The brighter the picture, the darker the negative, that's all I'm saying.

Or, be so repressed they'd be lined up around the block.

Did Jesus not have the good sense to outlaw BDSM when he said the people can't have Coca Cola?
