LOL

Thankfully Master doesn't mind me moving his stuff around. He's pretty good at figuring out where stuff should be. If not he just asks me. No big deal.

I just don't get people who just want all their stuff all over the place instead of where it should be and all piled up on their desk is not the right place.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/25/2013 9:19:23 PM)

Himself has his own hobby room where with a huge desk, his PC station, and tons of storage for his painting hobby. He paints historic pewter miniatures for war gaming (he's a GM).

I'm allowed in to vacuum, once I've cleared it with him. I wouldn't dream of attempting to organize him, which is much easier for me since he has his own space for that. Some *does* spill into the main room, but that's more or less contained.

(He has 10,000s of these things.)

As for the rest of the house, that's my domain to clean, and he tries to put things away in the kitchen where I like them, since he often empties the dishwasher for me.

He does clean up his space himself once every few years (I know, I know), but it's the way he likes it, and if I had ever even attempted to get him to do anything else when we first got together it would have been a deal breaker, I'm sure.

You don't screw with a Dom's miniatures.

littlewonder -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/25/2013 9:24:39 PM)

When I visit my daughter's house I go around so wanting to clean and organize things. It drives me batty. I mean she's not as bad as when she lived at home. Then I would just close the door to her bedroom and just keep throwing her stuff through the door without looking because I couldn't stand to look at it.

But to me, her place is still disorganized and I would love to just put stuff away. I told her one day I'm coming over with organization shelving and containers and stuff and cleaning everything up. She actually said she wouldn't mind. Her mind just does not operate in an organizational manner I guess. She can't figure out how to do it.

My son's like that. His room at college which he shared with three others, OMG. The first thing you encountered when you came in was this huge pile of well...stuff.

But the kitchen and bathroom were clean (I was proud of him).

Organized, he is not, and has no desire to be. But he's another creative artist type.

I think of myself as a creative artist type too, but evidently I inherited the 'I must be organized' gene.

LadyPact -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 6:58:40 AM)

See, I am *not* a piles of stuff person. I'd get along fine with lw. Things get organized by category and that's where they go. One of My rules for clip is that nothing gets a new home without talking to Me. Roughly speaking, the scissors live in the kitchen in the last drawer on the left. That's means I don't want them put away in the last drawer on the right.

By agreement, I don't touch the desk, even for cleaning. That's his space and I don't mess with it. I also don't move crap around in the garage. That's his territory. (The side benefit of this is I never have to do things like hang a picture because I have plausible deny-ability about not knowing where the hammer is kept.)

Oddly enough, the military has this class that people go through when they come home from a deployment. It's called reintegration training. One of the things that is discussed in that course is for the person returning to avoid the pitfall of rearranging household items. The first time I heard that, I laughed hysterically because it was so true in our case.

I am not a pile person either.
Everything has it's place with me and I like it that way. I don't do well with clutter or messes.
I get this impulse to clean which isn't always good, especially if it isn't my house. Lol

ShaharThorne -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 9:22:27 AM)

I need a slave to help me organize my bedroom...so many bookcases, books and DVDs.

Now I will probably get cmails from guys begging to do that for me.

Excuse me, but I am listing some of these books. When Mom comes back from our friend's place, we got to mail a few books.

Lol You are probably right there are a lot of service oriented subs / slaves out there.

Me too, especially if there is a drill involved!

I got an old fashioned hand drill...when we were laying the flooring in the living room, we had to use it so the cable for the satellite could come through.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 10:26:10 AM)

I crave organization, I just dont know how a lot of the time. Plus too, I am just naturally messy. Have been since I was 8/9

haha. I had completely forgotten about that until you mentioned it. My husband had that when he came back home also. Yup, that was one of them. When he came home he wanted to do things differently where I was so used to having things done in my way while he was gone. It was definitely interesting to get used to and having to go through that. [:D]

[sm=writing.gif] Note to self: That bluish liquid stuff the slaves carry around when cleaning is called "Windex". Must get more Windex.

Oh man *face palm*

And here I've been having Carol carry around this stuff

theshytype -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 4:56:54 PM)

<sigh>

I'm an all-over the place type person.
I have bins, jars, and every type of organization tools available in my home. Friends and family ooh and ahh over my keen organizational skills. But nobody has every looked in the bins. Thankfully.
Everything has a place, but nothing is ever where it should be. I crave to be organized, but is so very difficult for me. I tend to get side-tracked too easily and end up stuffing things wherever they'll fit. Except my pantry - that stays well-organized. I hate clutter so as long as it's out of sight, fine.
Oddly, when someone needs something, I know (generally) where to find it.

My husband on the other hand is the opposite. I don't have to worry about his spaces, he keeps everything in perfect order.

littlewonder -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 7:51:31 PM)

As organized as I usually am, lately I just can't seem to get some spaced in my place organized lately. It just seems that between school work, studying for this new job and school and getting other stuff done, I just forget about the other spaces even though I know they are there and I cringe every single time I pass them. I keep saying I'm going to get them done but it just never does. I'm starting to think it's my depression maybe hitting me again or my anxiety lately. I think I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now.

I really need for Spring to get here quickly so my anxiety and depression won't be AS bad.

Notsweet -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 7:58:01 PM)

There's a huge difference between cleaning and organizing. I never, ever re-organize the stuff in a house I'm cleaning, because that's not what they want. Also, I charge more for that, LOL...

One of the key things when you're working as a housekeeper is that things go back EXACTLY where they live. I always, always, without fail ask the client "Where does this go?" and if they aren't around to ask, they will find it neatly placed on a counter in plain view. I'm there to save them time, and hunting for your favorite cereal bowl can really screw with your morning <grin>.

littlewonder -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/26/2013 9:02:10 PM)

yeah, that's how I was when I cleaned homes for a living when I was a teenager. Now I just clean homes for friends if they really need help and Master and one day, my daughter who will have no choice in how I organize things. [8D]

Omg, I am so glad I'm not alone! Mine collects action figures! Which are in their original boxes, bubble wrapped and get put into bins. But jeez, until then they are lying on the table and "cannot be touched for any reason". [8|]
And I know they are expensive, it's not like I'm gonna smash the little fucker with a hammer and possible mess up the integrity of the box, lol. But damn, let me dust around them! The girls can't even clean by them!

Jeff, your hypnotiq bottle pic was hilarious.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: I have been declared a voyeur. (2/27/2013 12:09:25 AM)

Hey, if one falls on the floor, I bring it too him or if he's not home put it someplace where he can tell one went astray.

Pick it up and put it back where I 'think' it might go doesn't cut it here.

He does have his own sense of organization, I mean he literally has 10s of thousands of these things, many of them in storage boxes with labels.

It's the hundreds that he's in the middle of painting and organizing that are loose.

I'll never forget the first time I suggesting I could clean and organize his painting space. I got that stubborn as a rock look followed by "its fine how it is."

LOL I've never suggested it since.

I always get the "just work around my stuff. Don't touch it!"
