I would view being caged as a reward,not as a punishment.So,I really would have no reason to disobey.I'm one of those "subs" that prefers to obey and be rewarded that way.I don't do the "I've been bad,now punish me" stuff.Which I doubt works and I take it gets alot of dismissed that way.The real punishment would not be able to "play" at all.Now if theres an emergency,clearly there are ways to address this situation.

I guess go with what you're comfortable with. Personally I'd have loved it as I love cages and cells but 5 hours is a long time, especially in a small cage. If she likes using it, maybe try negotiating with her a shorter time in there so that she still has what she wants but you don't have to experience it for as long. You mentioned she broke the time up a few times and in my experience, this really helps, so if she does want you locked up, maybe ask if she'd do the same again and visit you every hour or two and take you for exercise or something.

I've not spent long periods in a cage (although I'd like to) However, I did see a Pro-Domme who had her own private jail cell. I spent 48 hours locked in there. It was very hard. I had food passed to me through a slot in the door so had no human contact for that time. Ultimately though I found the experience to be intense and rewarding.

We dont do cages i get a littley antsy on an airplane for 2 2 1/2 hours oing to Las vegas fromour home in NY was bad i was very antey. Managed to sleep most of the way there.

Beiging caged for 5 hours is a little exterme but it wahtever floats you boat.

I'm a little confused by everybody's statement that 5 hours in a cage is extreme.

Mostly because if that's extreme, I'm lost on how else you'd use cages in play.

Do you really put somebody in a cage for like, half an hour, in play, only to let them out again before the novelty even wears off or there is a significant psychological effect to the caging, and if so, why?

To me personally, cages are used for 'storing' a submissive for whatever length of time the top wants to keep their location restraint (and the mindset that comes with that) without physically having to deal with them. So cages are prime things to use overnight, or when the confinement is going to last several hours and other types of restraints may could physical issues due to the prolonged immobility.

For anything under an hour or so, a cage -to me- almost seems like a waste of time.
