Keep it simple. One sheet of paper ought to help. List everything on it in order and carry it in your pocket. Everything from your grocery list, to a bill that needs paid today, to an appt. Write it out, read it back, and even say it outloud. THis makes a big difference in memory, I used to do it for tests. Saying it outloud, reading it, and writing it does wonders. Get in the habit of carrying that one piece of paper, writing it out the day before at the same time and you will forget very little. and NEver put off writing something down the moment it comes into your head! So keep that paper with you ALL THE TIME. lay it by the bedside at night. This really works for me. I have an iphone and using it for this annoys me.
