Hi, Harry. I saw your thread, and thought it was a very interesting subject. Then I read through the responses, and saw there was a problem. Since there is a prohibition on starting another thread on the same subject as locked one, I'm unfortunately unable to really reply to your question, much less get an exchange of ideas going with someone whose answer might vary from mine there, or by finding a bit of agreement with someone I normally disagree with on the issues. The times all parties can be right, are where we find the common ground we can stand on, while we fight about the other stuff. It seems like the internet ought to be a place we look for that.

It's a shame, because it's the sort of thing we ought to be able to discuss. Maybe we'll get lucky, and the thread will be cleansed and re-opened. Of course, 3 1/2 hours since it was locked seems like plenty of time to delete a dozen or so mutual tugs from a pair of jerk-offs, send a couple emails that say, "stop being a shithead, and go bite each others penises in a chatroom," and bring the conversation back online, so I sorta doubt it's going to happen. At this point, even if it does, the flow might well be broken. The people who were ready to get their teeth into it have moved on.

I also hope the thread will be unlocked and re-opened, it is a great topic.
Reality checks might help some of the resident know it all's.

My way is always right, agree with me or take the highway type of posters.

There really is no reason to lock the threads. If something is out of control then give the ones that may have caused problems a temporary time out, instead of all the people wanting to post on topic and without personal attacks given a lock out from decent topics. Once it is looked at if those people given a temp timeout didn't do anything, then remove the gag and let them be on their way. Maybe a couple of hours to days timeout for those that want to tip toe along the lines of breaking the rules, will let them know maybe they should do that.

They took their jackboots off the thread's throat and re-opened it so put the Waaaahmbulance back in the garage and go share whatever burning bits of wisdom you were forced to keep to yourself.

Thank you for referring to my jackboots, and getting this posted before I finished all documentation leading up to the reopening of that thread. My apologies to the OP of that thread , I had notes from Chi requesting review, but my mother in law has been in extended care and it is near the end, so all of us were at the care facility with her, where we are now taking shifts being with her til the end,but had not read them. The first place I glanced was the scroll so that is when my attention was drawn to it. My apologies. To everyone else, hope you have a wondrous evening.To you,I hope yours improves, since the ascerbic sarcasm directed to both staff and other posters seems to say otherwise.

You should stop pretending to read minds, you're not very good at it. As for the jackboots, you've got me all wrong. I think they're damn sexy. As reprehensible as those guys were, they had some dead sexy uniforms.

Excuse me, but I am sure that Donald Trump will find Forum Mods with a sense of humor akin to the released birth certificate of President Obama and his recent complaints about Seth McFarland's job at the Oscars, so we members of the collarme boards should work hard to insure that the Trump Chump never learns of this.

Now, the mods having a sense of humor is nice. Hell I dont even mind the gold letters I occasionally get.
