Anyone else watching the Jodi Arias/Travis Alexander case on "In Session," Real TV or on HLN? Seems the two of them engaged in kinky sex, and after she killed Travis Alexander, Jodi Arias is claiming self defense because Alexander allegedly abused her (battered womens' syndrome) causing her to defend herself by stabbing him 29 times, slitting his throat ear-to-ear, shooting him in the head then covering up her dirty deed. What are your thoughts about covering this trial on TV, more specifically referring to their relationship as SM (esp. Jane Velez-Mitchell on HLN)? Do you think the SM element of this media coverage sends the wrong message to uneducated adults, and what about those who consider themselves educated in BDSM? What kind of message does it send to you? Do you think Jodi Arias deserves to be convicted of 1st degree murder and receive the death penalty? If not, what then?

Conviction and life imprisonment with no possibility of parole. If the jury accepts her defense, it does not bode well for sadistic tops.

~FRing it~ I personally am against the death penalty for a number of reasons. So I cant say that anyone deserves the death penalty. But I will say that based on everything Ive seen/read about the case (from things like 48 Hours, etc), she does deserve to be convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Stabbing someone over 29 times, then slitting their throat ear to ear, and then stopping that slaughter to go get a gun to shoot them in the head after doing all of that is nothing more than overkill from someone who was in a rage. To my common sense experience, when does it stop being "oh my god, this guy abused me and I snapped" to "Im just a straight up out of control killer"? She also did a number of things after the fact that screamed covering her ass, NOT just losing it and then realizing you lost it. I feel the same way about Jody Arias using a battered woman defense to justify what she did to Travis Alexander the same way I feel about George Zimmerman using a self-defense defense for what he did to Trayvon Martin....WRONG and its making light of truly battered women who snap and people who really needed to use "stand your ground." But its an acceptable defense in both jurisdictions, so Im not surprised these two are taking advantage of it.

I haven't followed this until now; she looks guilty. Random highlights: She liked dressing up like a "horny schoolgirl". She looks to her right every time she answers a question. Nancy Grace is wearing a handcuff necklace...

She tried to plea offer to 2nd degree murder, the prosecution said no thanks. There is no way that was a self-defense killing. That is a crime of passion over-kill situation. She stalked him, try to cover up the murder. She's guilty of murder in the first degree. I hate the death penalty, but in cases like these, where it's crazy over-kill, it seems like appropriate justice.

We have been following the trial very closely. They never did anything at all in regards to BDSM. She claims he tied her up the day of the murder but there a rope wasn't found. I believe she was jealous and planned his murder..

After killed him she created an "in memory" photo album of him on myspace. This entire thing is quite creepy.
