"yup....we`re a bunch of dumbshit republicans who don`t give a fuck about our country....I mean....who needs FEMA"[8|]

I am glad to see someone making an actual argument GJ owner. I don't care about the points anymore I just want to see an argument that is cogent or at the very least valid.

No....the rich are those douch-bags your party brown-noses and gives our(middle class earners) money to w/ tax breaks......

Well than please tell me just who these "Fat comfortable suburbanites" who "will be the last to feel any pain" are? And again, exactly how fat and how much money does it take to qualify? Oh yes, are these "Fat comfortable suburbanites" homeowners or renters?

Enlighten us please. Perhaps you feel they need to be taxed more do... but we are clear, you don't think these people are the "rich" correct?

Owner59 -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 12:34:24 PM)

I think you can figure it out....

Some more qualities of these brown-nosers.....

An alternate reality with a well cultured ignorance,a victim complex, the inability to see past their own noses with a healthy measure of selfishness/shortsightedness.....

Willingness/joy at seeing someone else get screwed as long as it not them,a disregard of others suffering and sometimes, like now, making fun of those who`ll be hurt by your partys stupidy.

"Sorry your families suffered b/c the CDC was defunded....be we snarky know it alls just had to have our "fuck America" fun.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 12:45:28 PM)

So who ARE they?

estimer -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 1:05:34 PM)

Dude Fat. You are pressing a straw man argument. His point destroyed yours. He is saying the kinds of companies that will get cut are not the ones that will effect the people that are comfortably wealth at the moment. However it will cut, according to his argument, It cuts money from the CDC, Low income energy assistance programs homeland security (i say o well to this one) and FEMA Oh and lets not for get meeeee The cut frum the Rural electrification and telecommunications loan programs.

So the answer to your straw man is here. People Living in Suburbian generally (there are always exceptions) won't need fema because they put suburban houses in good places(unless you live in california) that arent below sea level like New Orleans. I don't know what the CDC does but i am sure they will be hurt and have to cut money from cancer or aids or herpies. And as for the 2 million from the rural thing That hits me because i live in the middle of nowhere arkansas. No we are not suburbia. Suburbia here is in Chenal valley. In california its parts of pamona and burbank and other parts.

So to be very clear those that don't get the low income energy assitance are not normally living in suburbia. No matter if they are renting or not.

Stop chasing the straw man. Address the evidence that he gave you for his argument.

estimer -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 1:07:44 PM)

Mine has some room for attack that I don't feel like addressing. Attack it please. I just want you to make a non Fallacious argument.

We're talking about eliminating at least 1.5 million jobs, most of which are good paying indsutrial jobs.

We've already pretty much eliminated most of our manufacturing/industrial jobs.

estimer -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 1:36:18 PM)

I really wish i could fight your argument Kirata. but we now focus on creating money with 1's and 0's. So now our dept is worth way more than any actual physical thing we could make even if we made stuff still.

cloudboy -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 5:00:16 PM)

From a public point of view, I hope that the economy isn't slowed or forced into another recession -- triggering a greater budget deficit. It not like the private sector is humming with jobs for everyone who will be laid off.

From a private POV, if the sequester causes the economy to backslide and housing prices to slip further, it might help me better afford a new house -- we'll be in the market next year.

I am glad to see at least an 8% cut in military spending. All the cuts seem somewhat modest to me.

Write me down as wanting at least a 25-50% cut in military spending.

littlewonder -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/2/2013 9:09:40 PM)

Well, being that I live in Baltimore and the majority of everyone who lives here, commutes to D.C. for work everyday, I can tell you that something IS being done. One of the fed offices I will be working for soon, just closed one of their offices so all those people are without jobs. I've been told that cuts are already being made to the VA benefits offices and to expect my pension to be late in arriving because there will be shortages in staff. I've also been hearing and seeing the announcements since last week. There are some who started making cuts as of then.

Nothing happening? I can say without hesitancy that that is just not true unfortunately.

Expect it to get much worse.

Of course nothing happened, its the first bloody day. I am amazed people cant understand what these cuts actually are, or how they will come into effect.

Yeah, seriously, we're talking 3 months, 6 months out. One guy I know is a long-term "temporary" worker, and now has 3 months left when he would've had I think a year. I don't think furloughs are set to begin until April. I think they're still figuring out how to make budget cuts while minimizing how much services they'll have to cut. Education cuts won't start until the next school year, because this year's money has already been given out.

Ouch. U know ever since my time in the army I have never been constipated since. I guess there is something good about that big Green dick in my ass.

papassion -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/3/2013 1:12:28 PM)

If you think the world is going to fall apart because of a cut of 2 CENTS of every dollar, What do you think will happen when we go like Greece and real BIG TIME cuts will be necessary!? You do realize that these cuts arn't actual cuts to programs, etc, but the budgeted INCREASE to those programs. Cutting waste and fraud would make these "cuts" a moot point.

erieangel -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/3/2013 1:29:04 PM)

"Going like Greece" is a fallacy that will never happen.

The biggest reason Greece's currency failed is because it is tied to the Euro.

We have our own currency. Tied to nothing but the good faith and credit of the US government. The only way this country can go bankrupt is if Congress refuses to raise the debt ceiling and defaults on the money they have already spent.

Why don't conservatives understand that simple concept?

Owner59 -> RE: Sooo " the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.” (3/3/2013 2:23:10 PM)

I few of my Karate teachers are 1st/2nd generation Greek(and still in love w/ Greece) and Obama haters......

I like pointing out how thier party uses Greece as an insult and punch-line.[:D]

I find it ironic that the folks who put us in the ditch and set-off the global reccession are using the damage they caused as a reason to vote for them......[8|]

All I want to know is how did our elected officials fail us so badly? 16 Trillion dollars in debt, and they cut a few percent off of the INCREASE? Seriously? This is worth discussing? If a few percent taken off the increase is actually going to effect ANYTHING, then it is to be directly attributed to our politicians taking the money from the programs that will be most news-worthy. Cut 30% from what we currently spend with no increases, and we can start talking about it.

And I've been called naive! [8D]

Yes, it's off the increase. They aren't going to increase as much. Still means they are increasing spending. Yeah, it's horseshit. It's not cutting spending at all. Regardless of what all people have said, it's not cutting spending.
