OedipusRexIt -> Retired ProDommes Seeking New Subs (6/21/2006 5:02:12 PM)

I've noticed quite a few ProDommes are now "retired" on this site, but still seeking new submissives and slaves through their profile ads.   I thought I'd inquire as to some things that perplexed me.  I'm posing the question to all, though asking it here in this forum.

As One who still maintains His amateur status in hope of some day making the BDSM Olympics (Broad Jump, in case you're interested), I was particularly curious as to the following oft-seen characteristics of ProDomme profiles.

  1. "Retired"?   Does that mean you stopped Domming, or just charging?
  2. "Still Seeking"?   What happened to your many subs/slaves?

This inevitably led to further questions:
  1. Does the Domme Guild impose some sort of non- competition clause that made you tear up your client list?
  2. What kind of pension/benefits/medical/dental do you get?

Many might have discerned that these questions represent a min-rant in disguise.  Some might agree that the persona of "retired ProDomme" needs work if it is to be convincing and not altogether laughable. Some might disagree.  Which are you?

And no, I'm not talking about you, you, you, or even You...

How so?  Someone can't retire from professional domination and still be involved in the "lifestyle?"

In response to the OP, a retired ProDomme actively seeking new subs and slaves (clients) stands as an oxymoron to me, even though it may not to others.

The OP diesn't say anything about the retirees searching for clients.

Seems a silly rant to me.
Its rather like a professional chef not wanting to work in a restaurant but still wanting to cook for fun.
Just needs a different kitchen and equipment, guests to cook for......

I am wondering if the social security issue is involved here, perhaps they can only take so much tribute a year due to taxation rules.
