We got exactly what everyone expected. I think Abraham Lincoln called it "too many pigs for the tits" during the Civil War.

Too bad politicians don't offer a money back guarantee.

freedom?

first you need to distinguish freedom not only between its legal meaning and popular [incorrect] usage but for this purpose american/british imperialism has not a damn thing to do with freedom regardless what advertising label anyone wants to attach to it

I'm a bit unclear what Iraq had to do with "freedom"... ours or anyone else's. I thought it had to do with (oh god, I'm laughing as I type this) ... weapons of mass destruction.

In point of fact the whole idea that our military is "defensive" in any way, shape or form is rather ridiculous. Nobody needs that much defense. This is how we project our power across the globe and it's almost entirely offensive. So the answer is, "60 billion dollars taught mideast we would go in and topple someone we don't like on trumped up charges". In addition, it made a bunch of wealthy people more wealthy.

Quite obviously it did not resolve any issues with "weapons of mass destruction"
