I don't pay attention to BMI for pretty much the same reason that absolutchocolat listed above. For me, it's along the same lines as the military height / weight standards. The military's standards doesn't take into account that everyone doesn't have the same body type and what 150 pounds (for example) may look like on one person, isn't the way it will necessarily look on everyone else, even when the other people are the same height. I've been having to be "taped" at my official weigh-ins for years now because the maximum height / weight for my age was so low. I'm now under that maximum, and honestly not happy about how I look, and my joints seem to bother me more since I've lost the weight, then they did prior to the weight loss. I'd rather re-gain about 10 to 15 pounds, but I will try to hold off on attempting that until after I'm retired later this year.
