So as long as someone in the GOP does this you are Ok with it, though you offer no proof, as in the laws passed by the GOP in MI which allow for a bypass of the voters to follow the rule of one person to be fair under our current law because the of the guy in the White House

Not only did the Democratic party want to keep slavery, but in the 60s/70s they worked to block the civil rights movement. Here's a hint for you: The KKK were NOT Republicans.

Really???? Do you even have a grasp of what the Dem platform is?? Perhaps reading a history book not produced in the southern states may do you some good

For the record, I have never lived in a Southern state and only seldom visited them. I have never gotten any education in a southern school system. I just read the actual news is all. But hey, let's not let your bigotry get in the way of a good speech, eh?

Also for the record, what I think the democratic party stands for is the shit they actually do. And what they actually DO is the crap I mentioned (and more). So I think the Democratic party stands for a fascist police state.... as does the Republican party.

I voted for Obama in his first term and I'm a registered Democrat.

subspaceseven -> RE: GOP enforces Fascism in MI (3/15/2013 11:02:30 AM)

and???? the thread is about "fascism" which in MI seems to be the new law.

People and news outlets accused President Obama of doing what in FACT the Gop is enforcing...

Here, I'll try to type this really slow so you can follow along.

I'm against what happened in Michigan.

Now... to connect the dots for you...

I am a person with integrity so I'm against the same fucking crap when Obama does it. What I am strongly against is YOU though... you and all your red/blue zombie compatriots. While you all bicker over which color jersey someone is wearing our country is going to hell in a handbasket.

Does that clear up my position pretty thoroughly for you?

subspaceseven -> RE: GOP enforces Fascism in MI (3/15/2013 11:22:16 AM)

so when has Obama done it????????? Can you read and grasp that????

and please do not say he is breaking laws Bush passed...show me in what he passed

You want just one? Here, I'll pick the most egregious one.

2012 NDAA

He gave himself (and all future presidents along with an undefined set of hidden bureaucrats) sole authority to be judge, jury and executioner. Basically, he is now the Czar of Justice. There's a specific sample to equate to your situation in Michigan. But hey, by his own words I wouldn't worry too much about it because he's a nice guy.

Now, when we speak about "fascism" I'm looking for a strong collaborative effort between corporations and government. You know, much like Benito Mussolini described. He preferred the word "Corporatism". In support of that I offer you "too big to fail". But in case that's not really clear to you, ask yourself who is invited when the president has a question about something. Is it some random citizen or is it a CEO? If you want to know who's opinions he cares about all you need do is look at who he asks questions of.

Granted, it was me who went further into "police state" but that's not such a huge stretch. Fascism tends to result in vast social imbalance (much like in the US) which in turn requires strong control of the populace. Do you wish me to give you specific examples of how Obama is aggressively forwarding a police state?

Did I state that I was OK with it when the GOP does it? No....That's what you wanteded to hear. My first post was tongue-and-cheek if you take off the blinders and read it.

Proof. look at how the administration treats the voters in every state that passes a law he don't like. Everything from immigration to drug legalization....It's whatever is politically expedient at the moment for him.

I suppose when his constintuency, which got him elected twice, really thought he would close gitmo, they were just pretending?

The first time they (and I were fooled). The second time they were pretending.

@JC check google

The people voted NO, in Nov when this option was on the table. So the Governor pushed it though in the lame duck session,

So the vote of the people are meaningless to this GOP governor, they rejected the idea and elected people who ran on reducing the debt, but after over 200 years we have a king in charge of a US City, he alone has power, the people have no say, and when they did they changed the laws to silence them

Gee you would think the teabaggers would be opposed to this

The GOP and the teabaggers have spent millions accusing Obama of doing the very thing they are putting in place,

What's the matter? Can't handle the GOP and the Tea Party doing what Obama and the Communist Party have already done many times over?

Thanks for the admission....

Not that we needed one......[:D]

That was until the voting rights act(s)....passed by democrats....coincidentally, the very same time in history when the bigoted democrats like strum thurmond, switched parties and joined the republican party......

Who coincidentally are today........... trying to kill the voting rights acts.Ummmm.[8|]

The republican party had some of the 1st black elected officials, right after the civil war....but can`t even get a percentage of a percentage of African Americans to join their party today...

The denialists of course, blame black folks for this and not themselves....anyone, but themselves.....[sm=m23.gif]

If time stood still and if the time line stopped in the 60s, you would be correct.

But time and history hasn`t stopped and now it`s the GOP that has a racism problem.

At least there`s the comfort of recalling where the gop WAS,50 years ago.

Good thing no one said Obama was a good candidate because he was "light skinned" and didn't have a "negro dialect."

Owner59 -> RE: GOP enforces Fascism in MI (3/15/2013 4:05:34 PM)

So you`re one of those who blame black folks, for favoring the democrats over the cons.... ok.

*laughs* You shouldn't. Didn't you know I'm a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory guy? Largely I'm told I'm off the deep-end because I believe our government has been bought and paid for which sort of makes it an illegitimate government in my mind. Oh... and I don't buy into the idea that Obama is anything other than the pig with nicer lipstick which actually makes him more of an evil fuck than Romney in my mind. I prefer my wolves to be wearing wolf clothing.

FunCouple5280 -> RE: GOP enforces Fascism in MI (3/15/2013 4:22:52 PM)

I don't blame anyone for their political beliefs. They are what they are. If blacks want to support the Democrat Party, so be it. That's they choice.

I don't think the mentioning of the President being black was necessary, and certainly does strike me as at least a bit racist. But, when an old white guy gets a pass for his comments, it's okay because he's a Democrat. That's what bugs me.
