The only difference between this and the Unabomber's cabin is this one is made of stone.

Personally I prefer 3500 sq ft semi underground structure that is emp shielded, blast proof, and artillery proof

I will second that & would really buy the cave that was used by wikileaks in Sweden, if its available ...
but I don't think that I could afford it & get the heat going in there.

Helen ... this snow show did make my balls immigrate back to my belly ....

Why is his wood pile inside the house? That bothers me, we bring a few pieces in at a time and even so get insects coming in on them.

I AGREE!!!

As for the cabin, no bedroom or bathroom?
It's not my dream cabin, regardless of the view.

I didn't say it was a dream cabin, but I do appreciate it's efficiency. I'm not sure but in the video for this, I think they heat their water from the coils on top of the stove. I just like the economy of it. It looks like those bay windows open, too.

Waterless cabins with great views are rather common up here. You couldn't pay Me to live in one.

Hmm, it's a bit too economic for my liking.

I could quite happily live in an open plan cabin
with bed, shower, kitchen, lounge all basically in
the same room, but wouldn't like to do without
the shower all together in favour sponging myself
down from a pan of melted snow on the stove...
Or do without a bed in favour of,
'gettn ma sleeping bag ownnn.'

It might as well be a tent!

**P.S. It does look purdy though! I probably use it
as more of a hot chocolate pitstop rather than
home base.**

There's a wonderful picture book here that shows the design and construction of the house and surrounding area.

I like the treehouse in this vid (the HemLoft).. it was built by someone (illegally) on crown land in Whistler, BC.. I think this is a work of art.. it is a treehouse tho so a tad small.. It was submitted to a design mag too.. but I dont know what has happened to it, if it still exists or not..

That treehouse reminds me of something from
Riven, one of my favourite games of all time.

I think it's great, I like the tiny house movement.
I would love to downsize and live a much simpler life.
I don't know that I would want to live in such a isolated
place year round but it would be a great place to get away
to with your partner and your animals.

The only drawback is the toilet situation. Outhouse?
I'd also want a shower inside or out and a sleeping loft
or nook. It looks like he has a sleep loft. He's built a
beautiful home and that view is breathtaking.

And I've always wanted to live in a treehouse.
