I agree with the others who have posted, when you're getting to know someone online, do it as friends. Save the play and the power exchange for if you have good chemistry once you meet.
As for your question being stupid, the Chinese have a saying:

I've only been asked for cam verification once, and it was odd, because the conversation wasn't sexual in nature at all. Of course I refused-the only visual verification I need is the Mk 1 eyeball. If I can't breathe the same air as the person in question, I'm not interested. Of course, the fact that I'm not really looking either may have something to do with that as well, but...[;)]
