Status: offline 		Been on Fetlife for almost 7ish months and just heard about this site today.

I expected maybe this site would be kind of similar, seeing as how normally this community has treated me pretty nicely.

Instead I got verbally abused today after trying to be nice--so basically, I'm pretty disappointed with the community as a whole. I'd normally let one asshole slide, but now I'm getting messages on here AND yahoo from people with really hurtful things to say.

No one will care about this unless I kill myself, obviously I'm not going to do that. But I still think the community should acknowledge that cyber bullying is not ok.

As for the messages here, report them and block them. I'd also be willing to bet, that it's all the same person with different screen names. It's the M.O. of people that try using attack methods to get women to do things on web cam.

I'm not sure why the entire site is now a disappointment to you because of your negative experience. It's too bad that happened, but isn't it a little prejudicial to paint everyone with the same brush? No, cyber bullying is not ok, you can report what happened to you to the site, I hope you've done that. I can't think of anyone I know on this site that thinks cyber bullying is ok.

Yeah, it's been mentioned that some guy out there will try to get naked cam or pics, and say youre being reported as a man or whatever...big flipping deal. It's a common ploy on the newbies and it's not ok with the site, just so you know, but it happens. That guy will just have a bunch of profiles that message you then...no biggie. Seems like you gave him your yahoo, next time when someone wants to im use the CM chat feature.

Like most things in life, it pays to be cautious. I hope your time here goes a bit smoother...

This isn't so much a community as it is a free internet site that allows just about
anyone to join, whether they are kinky, vanilla, or polka dotted.
Being disappointed in the responses you are getting here isn't going to change anything,
nor is having a bunch of strangers acknowledge that cyber bullying is not ok.

Take action for yourself. This is an adult site. If you aren't capable of blocking and ignoring
idiots, then perhaps you should rejoin when you have more control over your reactions.

Status: offline 		There's a bit of a "community" here on the forums, but the site as a whole - not so much. There are Creepy McCreepersons here on CM, just like on FL. If you get abusive messages, report them. If they are sending you emails, block the addresses.
Do you have any idea how they may have gotten your yahoo information? Were you using YIM to chat with people or anything like that?

Status: offline 		Welcome to the forums. I too had some negative experiences. Most of them were as mentioned above, just report and block and don't take it personally.
As for responses on the forum try to be open minded and read the proper tone as well as identify the playful sarcasm. There are some wonderful and knowledgable people here as well as the occasional person who has simply had a bad day.

Hang in there and best to you.

Oh... And don't make your YIM the same as your name here. Too easy to find you but you can block there too.

You use cum in your name.  I hate to say this but when you do stuff like that then the horny net geeks think you want to be treated as a slut.  So they send nasty rude messsages.  Everyone gets some idiot mail.  If you are getting more than most then I would suspect it's your nick.

Here's a standard definition of cyberbullying.

"Cyberbullying is the use of the Internet and related technologies to harm other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner."

Have you blocked this person repeatedly, and has he created new profiles and repeatedly messaged you in a hostile manner even though you blocked him? If the answer is no, you probably aren't a victim of cyberbullying.

Here's a mantra you might enjoy: "Block and move on." It's even become an acronym that moderators use on OK Cupid: BAMO.

Meh, ignore the stupid ass messages you get, let the BLOCK button be your friend, and move on with life. It's a free site, so douche canoes can and do come out of the woodwork. Not that it's an excuse or anything, but your screen name would probably be one to attract the morons.

I think it's already been said, this isn't a
community in any substantial sense... BUT, I
think you will find that the regular posters will
treat people well. (most of the time)
Though at the same time, people who are abusive
or intolerant will usually be subjected to similar
treatment. People who write garbage or who are
looking for wank fodder are usually also not
received well, and that, believe it or not is one of
the things which makes this site good in my
opinion!

There are a lot of weirdos out there and a lot of
wankers. In some ways, this forum is a sort of
oasis, a place where you can search for advice or
information that is subject to the scrutiny of a lot
of experienced people, the fact that the majority
of regular posters here aren't likely to suffer fools
is an added assurance that you wont be given a
bum steer.

Report the guy that was abusive and he'll probably
be dealt with pretty firmly, there are some good
mods and admins here and I'm sure they'd be
happy to help you out.
