Creation Scientist Offering $10,000 To Anyone Who Can Disprove Genesis Creation Account

California scientist Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo is putting his money where his mouth is.

Dr. Mastropaolo is certain that the Biblical creation narrative found in Genesis can be defended in the face of evolutionary science. In fact, he’s so sure of this that he’s willing to bet $10,000 on it.

Mastropaolo is a Young Earth Creationist - a branch of conservative Evangelical Christians who believe the six day creation account of Genesis is a literal historical narrative. Most Young Earth Creationists believe the earth is 6,000-10,000 years old, and they reject modern scientific notions regarding the age of the earth and the history of life on earth.

I mean geologists have proved the age of the planet quite a few times, then there are the fossils of dinosaurs and even creatures predating dinosaurs, not to mention plate tectonics...

Is this guy just stupid, or completely ignorant of the facts?

It's probably both: stupid and ignorant aren't mutually exclusive, are they?

it's a scam. This guy will set the rules and they won't be possible to meet, just like Hovind did with his million dollar challenge.

It is like Fox news, no one can prove what they are saying is a fact only they can.

It will draw in those with limited mind experience

Mastropaolo has named his $10,000 wager the “Literal Genesis Trial.” For the trial, Mastropaolo sent out an open challenge to any evolutionary scientist who believes he or she can empirically disprove the Genesis creation account. To raise the stakes, Mastropaolo is asking the challenger to wager $10,000 of his or her own money as well in a winner-takes-all scenario.

The “minitrial,” to be held in California, would be complete with a bailiff, a judge and a court reporter.

Mastropaolo, who has issued challenges like this in the past, is sure that he will be keeping his money.

"[Evolutionists] are not stupid people, they are bright, but they are bright enough to know there is no scientific evidence they can give in a minitrial," he said.

The Creation Hall of Fame is collaborating with Mastropaolo for the trial. According to the trial rules laid out on Creation Hall of Fame’s website, only evidence that is “scientific, that is, objective, valid, reliable, and calibrated” will be accepted at the trial.

The issue is he knows science rarely deals in certainty just probability. So there is 99/100 some question, or range, or doubt in the absolute validity in most science. Science gets it in the ballpark, not always on home plate.

I would rather offer him $10,000,000 if he could remotely prove any part of the genesis story without refering to faith or God once.......

Maybe there wasn't a big-bang, maybe is was quantum foam or some other infinite univierse theory, just cause neither of those is right it doesn't make his horse-shit myth right.

But all those fossils and things were put there by the Invisible Man In The Sky to fool us into not believing in Him so he could send us to burn Hell because he loves us.

I dont believe his ultimate goal is to send us to hell, contrary to what a lot of these televangelists, charismatic and lunatic christian right protestant preachers are yelling from the pulpit.

As for disproving genesis:

quote:

The age of a rock in years is called its absolute age. Geologists find absolute ages by measuring the amount of certain radioactive elements in the rock. When rocks are formed, small amounts of radioactive elements usually get included. As time passes, the "parent" radioactive elements change at a regular rate into non-radioactive "daughter" elements. Thus, the older a rock is, the larger the number of daughter elements and the smaller the number of parent elements are found in the rock.

I have an employee, holy roller, that insists the world is only 6,000 years old. He's one of those who makes quite clear that the Bible tells all.

Now mind you, any time I ask him stuff like "what about dinosaurs...those have been without debate proven to have existed", he has an answer that frankly, I would have a very hard time debating. His logic is beyond exquisite.

I vacillate between being a believer and being a guy who thinks "fuck....who the hell knows?" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Hitchens....guy is fucking brilliant....gotta look at about 15 YouTube vids before you'll grasp his full genius).

Anyway...the debate goes on.

Why else would He lay down strictures that His creation not use the virtues that He's given it?
If we're His work, so are our minds.
