More power for themselves (the IC) and the USG. The fucking problem the USA is not their AO. Bringing technology and stratedy into the USA which was designed for the battlefield. Intended to control, conquer and kill an enemy (Find, Fix, Finish). None of this ends well - more "stellar wind". GTFO Keith. I went to see this cat at DEFCON. Just like he did with congress... He intentionally stood on his soap box and lied to everyone.

NSA Domestic Spying

I should think it's a pretty obvious fact. The US government believes that it must have total privacy from US citizens... or as near to that as it can manage... in order to keep us "safe". It also believes that we must have no privacy from it in order to keep us safe.

Somehow I'm not feeling all that safe.

Mass surveillance on this scale: Mass Intercepts, IPX , CCTV, ARGUS and it seems you understand the list. Surveillance of this nature, the omnipresent layers being laid down now, is a weapon; a very effective one. If you remember back when TIA (Total Information Awareness) project was shut down because they were too intrusive.

With SIGINT, SOCOMINT, SNA or Mass intercepts what we have today is 100 times worse and people literally opt into it.

What is strangest to me is it has been known about since the 80s. Today it is a reality - all your data belong to them. I am no longer the fan of social networks or forums I once was. It is spooky. [&o]

I think people knew about government surveillance even before the 1980s. People knew about J. Edgar Hoover and his files. Same government, same tactics - except now they have better technology.
