I apologize for starting another "I'm Moving" thread.  But I'm not sorry enough to not start one anyway.

At 5:00 pm, Tyler and I will be officially looking at a house.  We already unofficially looked at it (read- The door was unlocked and no one lives there.  You can also read that Ty kept yelling at me to get out because we could get caught).  We're not buying, just renting, but we'll be living there for the next four years while Tyler's in school.  It's a huge 3 bedroom half of an old Victorian house (about 2,000 square feet) downtown, within biking distance to campus and on the busline (and you don't have to park on the street).  It's been recently renovated and it has a full dining room, living room, huge walk in pantry, large kitchen, basement, and the smallest bedroom is the size of our master bedroom here.  To top it all off, my mother-in-law's cousin is the one who's renting it, and he's willing to give it to us for $600/$650 dollars a month.  I'm not going to say that the place is a show-home, but Ty and I love it.  It's everything we need in a house.  Plus we'll be able to have a full nursery for Aiden, and still keep the computer office room.  I'm so damned excited it's not even funny!  It will be so nice not to be cramped up in a place that won't fit all of our belongings.  We'd even be able to cancel our storage space if we get this place.

So basically, after much ado and a hell of a lot of apartment hunting, we've finally found a place we'd really like to live.  We'd be moving in in about three weeks.  Please, please, please keep your fingers crossed for us!  We're really hoping on this one!  Thanks everyone!

Edited because I forgot an important "s".

Good luck! I hope you guys get it. I know about the storage thing. Himself and I already have our plane tickets to Utah to go close out that storage and will finally have a place to put all our .. stuff.

Happy Days!

The lease is still here in Lafayette.  We're just moving closer to campus (Purdue).  Right now we live a little south of town.

So apparently we're the only people that are looking at the place!  Provided the rent's actually what he told us, we've got it and we'll be moving in in three weeks!  Woot!  There's a little bit of fixing up the place needs, and we'd discussed cutting some money off of the rent if we fix the place ourselves.  I'm hoping that goes through.

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone!  You guys are powerful people, because they're working!

Wow!  Good luck to you guys!  SacredDom and I are moving soon too and have yet to find a place.  I am hoping that we can find a house to rent.  I want to grow vegetables, flowers, and herbs and SD needs a garage that he can work out of at home.  I hope that we can be as lucky as the two of you seem to be!

Cool Naked...you hold down that end of the state, we got the other..lol. You will be thrilled with having more room, I know when we bought our big old house, we thought we would never fill it up..of course, we thought wrong, but having space is a big deal. Good luck, hope the deal goes through.

Best of luck NOMC....how exciting.  It sounds like a place that will suit your needs with room to grow...not to mention what your saving on gas being so close to campus.

I moved at the end of April back to OC and i am STILL living in a hotel.  Anything i can afford i wouldn't live in.  Places i could pinch and get away with ($1500 + utilities) i can't afford the deposit they are requiring because of my bad credit.  To top it off, everything i own is in storage (and costing a small fortune) and i have to board my dog (another hefty expense) as i can't find a hotel i can afford that allows pets.

So i will be content with being happy for you for now!
