...and it's a good day :)

I met him for the first time when he was 31 (3+ years back....we've golfed, done shit but....see forward)....I didn't know what to think....I asked for the DNA test, his Mother wasn't sure....I was...I saw his photo 18 years prior (he was....maybe 10)....it was my face...I met her one night (it was a VERY fun night)....long story...I'd looked for him for years (anyone remember BG...."before Google"?), looked for HER for years....and years later (without all the story book shit), we finally met.

He was beyond gorgeous.

He is beyond gorgeous.

He had all his hair...I couldn't hold back...I thought I would shake his hand or something....do the guy thing...I couldn't let go...i hugged him until I felt my hair would fall out (it did anyway) he was so fucking beautiful...I explained to him on our first meeting...."looks come from the Father....so do brains".

I felt good to clarify that for him (if he was wondering).

(He was).

About 73 kabillion things happened, I asked for a DNA kit because I'd always wondered, having seen his photo years prior (knowing that....that forehead was mine....and of course....that incessantly cute smile which, frankly would stop most women in their tracks was of course....from my DNA).

So.....my son is going to spend time with me and...I am so thankful.

Life is good :)

I'm really happy for you.

As an adoptee, I don't have that "who do I look like?" thing. Until of course, my granddaughter was born. Although now it isn't "who do I look like?" but rather "she looks just like me?" since she is the spitting image of me at that age.

That's fantastic Lookie! I didn't meet my bio father till I was in mid-twenties, and I learned from that experience that SO MUCH of who we are is inherited/genetic, much more than acquired by life and time. Your shared genetics will bond you and your son despite the late start. Keep us posted!

Rock on dude!!!!!

I didn't meet my half brother until I was 24 and he was 31. Long story short, dad and his 1st wife didn't get along well at all. Now he and I are great friends who followed similar career paths in the military. We talk shop a lot, I've taught both his sons how to hunt, and I am closer to him than I am to the brother who I grew up with.

Take this opportunity and run with it. My BIGGEST suggestion is to make sure that you tell him how pleased you are to have this opportunity and to make sure that he knows you want him in your life. Nothing is more important than making sure that those you care about really know you care.
