According the son of slain Texas DA Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia, the night before he and his wife were killed they had a party and Mike McLelland bagged up all his guns in preparation. It is well know McLelland was concerned about his safety with the killing of Assistant DA Mark Hasse in January. Also the night of McLelland killings the police patrol car that normally was parked outside the house was gone. Either the Aryan Brotherhood which has been named as the most possible group to do the killings were extremely lucky the night of the killing or somebody that McLelland trusted and possibly at the party, had a motive to kill him.
