AAmber -> Wishlists (4/11/2013 10:33:44 AM)

So I've seen a lot of dommes on CM offer a link to their wishlists as an encouragement to get people to earn their attention.

I was just wondering, if someone buys an item for you off your wishlist on amazon, are they then able to see your address, name etc... when they choose the address to post it to? Or is all that kept confidential by amazon and basically they just pay for the item and amazon delivers it to you for them?

OsideGirl -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 11:12:20 AM)

Somewhere on your moral compass, doesn't it strike you as odd that you are afraid to let the people that you expect to buy you presents know your real name or address?

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 12:02:56 PM)

It depends on how you set up your amazon account details I think.

TNDommeK -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 12:23:58 PM)

Athena is right. There are certain ways to set things up.
But Oside, to answer your question, not at all. I have strangers buying things from my wish list a lot. And I don't feel they should know my private information just yet. They can know "Ms. K" but that's about it.

OsideGirl -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 12:35:02 PM)

I just think if someone is purchasing you a gift to get your attention, they deserve your attention which to me means they at least get to know a name.

I don't disagree with FinDomme or having a wishlist. I have an issue when it's just an attempt to grab what you can without providing something back to the submissive. It seems to me that if you're involved with someone that you can't trust, then you need to stop and think about who you're getting involved with.

TNDommeK -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 12:47:31 PM)

It's not so much of getting involved with someone I can't trust, it's more so being careful until I can trust them. They do get my name, if they ask. Like I say, sometimes I get things and have no clue who gets me what.

I'm not a FinDomme and don't do the wishlist thing, but I've always wondered the same thing. Interesting.

If I were a FinDomme, I wouldn't want people knowing my legal name from a wishlist. Just because they bought me something doesn't mean they're entitled to that information, let alone knowing my name and shipping address, which Amazon shows, IIRC.

Buying me a book or a DVD to get my attention isn't the same as being in a relationship with me. IMO, FinDommes have the right to parcel out whatever personal information they wish at the speed at which they're comfortable, just like any other woman. Attention comes in a lot of forms from email to talking on Skype; why should a FinDomme be forced to give her name before she's ready?

UllrsIshtar -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 1:51:10 PM)

Amazon does not give out the address of wishlist recipients for purchases made off the amazon website.

It does show the town though, and whatever name you choose to list.

However, if you add items to your wishlist from sites other than amazon, amazon will release your address information to those third party merchants, and some of them will make that information available to the person buying the gift, like on the receipt.

If you do not want your address information to be available, you just need to make sure you don't add third party merchandise on your wishlist, which, with amazon's very broad selection, really is only an issue when it comes to kink stuff.

BTW, amazon also doesn't show the address or name of the person buying the gift to the receiver, unless the purchaser specifically selects otherwise.

True. I found this out when I had a boy forward a shipping confirmation. The email displayed my full name and address.
It was a shock to my system but, not a big deal. OP, If you're super nervous about this, stick to gift cards.

You can get around this by setting up an Amazon Locker, which you can find in your account settings, Add A New Address.

Also, OP, it's worth mentioning that PayPal will expose your complete first and last name to anyone who sends you money that way, unless you set up an account in a way that probably violates PayPal's Terms of Service. (I.e., not worth doing, because they can shut down your account and keep the money.) So just assume that anyone paypaling you money knows your vanilla first and last name.

AAmber -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 4:20:12 PM)

Oside, I only created this post out of genuine curiosity; I have no intention of setting up a wish list. I've just seen so many and was wondering how dommes who have one deal with this.

HarryVanWinkle -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 4:37:20 PM)

If I ever manage to bring myself to setting up an account as a 20 year old Findomme, I definitely would NOT want people who buy me gifts to know my real identity.

AAmber -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 4:42:54 PM)

I'm not a findomme in any sense

Excellent question.

Yes, they are able to then see you, see your bedroom, your phone number, what you're wearing at that specific moment in time and, they are entitled at that point to fuck you in any position and for however long they choose during any one specific 24 hour period (you are allowed breaks for water and bathroom trips every 3 hours).

FrostedFlake -> RE: Wishlists (4/11/2013 10:10:21 PM)

Yup.

He sees you when you're sleeping.
He knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good.
So be good with your .38.

With apologies to Rankin Bass.

I'm guessing the kinds of items (and size, etc.) you had on your wishlist might give you away. lol

ROFL .... the IRS will want to know ... and don't be surprised when they track em down ... either.

That stuff can be taxable income ... and we all know, the government must have its share.
