Beyond Leather is held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is home to the International Pony Play Championships
and International Power Exchange Contest. It is a 4 day leather event and we take over a 8 story luxury hotel with a beautiful atrium and convention rooms. There are over 60 workshops and several theaters, nightly on site dungeon play with 9000 square feet. All in all, it isn't real big (500 plus) but it is a lot of fun.

If this thread gets any play, I'll let my girl samdarella chime in and tell you about her cutting and fav workshops.

Did you go or have you gone in the past?

Unfortunately, this is one of the events that I haven't been to. I was literally on the verge of registering to go the year that we moved from GA and the timeline prevented Me from doing it.

I just had a look at the 2013 presenters list. You had an excellent array to choose from for presentations! Some of them were fellow presenters with Me at Northern Exposure 3. Master Todd and slave elizabeth are fabulous people as well as fantastic presenters. RuleofThree gives excellent presentations on AB and I'd recommend his books to anybody with that particular fetish. Master Obsidian and slave namaste can really hit home about the M/s leather lifestyle. I met them the year prior (NE2) and Cross was here that year as well. Nobody can say enough about Lady D.

I don't say it often, RS, but I'm jealous. I can promise you that I'd have been front row for Mistress Susan's "Women, Power, and Mastery" presentation. You don't get to see that much at non leather events.

Of course, I'm already a Sir Top and slave bonnie fan.

Mr and I went too. We had an absolute blast!
Everyone was amazing, the workshops were all very well put together, the (fire) theater was mesmerizing! We didn't watch the contests but I heard they were a lot of fun as well. Even the vendors were awesome ;)
Mr came home with a new 4' bullwhip and a new set of canes (7 different kinds! oh my!) as well as a new leather shirt. I got a new sexy black corset and have another red and black one on order.
Registration for next years event is already available as of next week and you can bet we will be getting our tickets early.
I've never felt so charged!
The whole thing made me feel like it was a kinky relationship retreat for healthy people. (can't say couples because thre were quite a few poly families there as well)
There was probably folks there that represented the entire rainbow of dynamics.

btw RS, it was fun watching samdarella have such a *ehem* holy moment ;)

I can't wait for next year because it felt like we blinked and we were on our way back home already ;/

Been there in past... It's a well run event. No favourite class... Anymore than any other class at other events I have gone too. But i do think its one of the best venues I have been to and look forward to going again in the future.

Sounds like a great event. I've helped out at multi-day takeover events before. They are fun getting away from 'the world' and being surrounded by people of like interests. Maybe Miss will take me next year.

Beyond Leather is a cozy event compared to some of the big ones and your hometown hosts the Southwest Leather Conference!!! You are also home to international bootblack competitions and a ton of leather lifestyle events, parties and organizations. I hear stories about Southwest Leather Conference when I am at SELF. It sounds like a large event.

In 2 seconds I Googled up more leather stuff for Arizona than I can post. Try going to the Behind Closed Doors event this October, it has 21 workshops. I also found your local TNG leather party goers if you are hunting fresh partners. Try going to a party with the Devious Minds groups who say, "full nudity is only allowed at the after party".

Dude, you live in Phoenix, half the people on these forums don't live in a community as active leather and kinkwise.
