Very interesting.

Same old same old.

And people wonder why gender equality activists get so upset at the state of things.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/13/2013 4:05:45 PM)

That's gonna put her in the Feminista doghouse for, at least, a year or two.

I knew there was a reason I liked her (I don't care for blondes).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I've always had issues with submission based on gender.

It assumes that one is capable of being leader simply because he's male. It pushes people into a role that doesn't represent who they are. Which means that every relationship the go into will end badly because they're trying to be someone they're not.

FR

Supposedly she has since stated that she's not speaking about workplace relationships.

Oside, I agree with what you said, as usual [:D] but I am glad she's stepped forward.

This.

What this comes down to is someone saying 'this is how you should live your lives'. It ignores the fact that people are different and have the right to work towards a life that makes them feel happy and fulfilled.

If she had said 'I consider myself submissive to my husband and it makes us happy in these ways' it would be one thing but the tone of the article is 'I'm awesome, you are inferior to me if you don't do this'.

I want Gabby to wash my socks.

~FRing it~

If that is what works for her and her marriage, more power to her. However her way doesn't work for everyone.

If this is the way all women should be when in marriage, I think I've figured out why I'm not married. I'm not very good at the whole submissive deal [:D]

slaveluci -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/14/2013 7:10:37 PM)

Indeed. If being submissive is what works for her marriage, great. It's ignorant and arrogant to paint every woman/relationship with the same bruth and assume what she does will work for others. Do what works for you and leave me and the others out of it, ok Gabby? Thanks......luci

Another celeb seeming to fall along those same lines?

kiwisub12 -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/15/2013 4:16:07 AM)

Submission is a choice - not a gender leaning. Sorry woman, but you are full of shit.
One of the ways i was stomped on while i was married was buy a dominating male who thought that what he wanted was the way to go - and i came second.

Yes, i am submissive, but it has to be my choice, not something dictated to me by someone who doesn't live in my space.

Level -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/15/2013 4:31:53 AM)

Now wait... you women are saying us men don't just automatically get the crown?

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/15/2013 6:24:08 AM)

Good for her, that she found the right gimmic to keep her man.
However, she can take her thoughts about my role, and shove 'em. M

They get so upset because their ideals are not natural in any way shape or form. It's an idea that has to be constantly propagandized and shoved in peoples faces from birth to death in order to uphold, because human instincts scream loudly in the opposing direction. So when someone gets the courage to speak as a human being should, it shows a lot of people on the fence that it is completely okay. And thus their work is damaged...

njlauren -> RE: Gabby Reece (4/16/2013 7:44:56 PM)

If it works for her relationship, great, but that biblical nonsense about a woman submitting to her husband as "natural law" (this from the same church that until 1922 said the sun goes around the earth, go figure). It sounds like they had some kind of marital blow up, were separated, and then suddenly they are all lovey-dovey cause she recognized her was superior or something *sigh*..If it works for them, great, but when they start making general statements like it is a woman's natural role to do this, bring out the creep-o meter, I sense a born against Christian is running around. Everyone is different, what defines submission is different, and a lot of people seem to get along great where hubby and wife are equals, hubby is sub, so what is the big magic secret? They also never ran into an Italian or Jewish grandmother, supposedly 'submissive', with the iron fist in the crying towel *lol* (and having both in my family, am an expert on it:)
