Status: offline 		A suspect has been arrested based on CCTV footage and will be brought to court, according to CNN.

US authorities are believed to have made a 'clear identification' after analysis of video footage which shows a suspect placing a package at one of the bomb sites before leaving the area.

Status: offline 		CNBC, and MSNBC reports that they have images from a store's recording device, that shows a person placing a bag down. Apparently every news organization is reporting something different.
It is reported that FBI will have a press conference at around 5pm, to say what they have, or have not found.

Representative Michael Mccaul is reported to have spoken to the FBI 5 minutes ago, and they say they have not made an arrest.

I am confident, that given ALL of the recording devices on that day, they will be able to catch the son of a *itch that did this. M

A suspect was arrested Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombing case and was expected to appear shortly in federal court, the Associated Press reported.

The news agency said U.S. Marshals had taken the suspect to the courthouse in downtown Boston.

The AP report comes as several news sources said investigators have identified images of a suspect seen delivering one of the explosive devices that killed 3 people and injured more than 170 at the finish line of the marathon.

However, there were conflicting reports regarding the arrest, which CNN also reported. Sources tell USA TODAY and several other outlets that no arrest had yet taken place.

CNN's John King quotes the sources as saying that surveillance video from a nearby Lord &Taylor department store was key in the investigation. Television footage also played a role, CNN reports.

"The camera from Lord & Taylor is the best source of video so far," said Dot Joyce, a spokeswoman for Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino tells the Boston Globe. "All I know is that they are making progress."

Status: offline 		(CNN) -- Investigators racing to solve the fatal bombing at the Boston Marathon have made "significant progress" in the case but no arrests, a federal law enforcement source told CNN's John King Wednesday.

The FBI also officially confirmed in a statement that no arrests had been made.

The denials came after sources previously told CNN that a suspect was in custody.

One federal law enforcement source told CNN that "anyone who says 'arrest' is ahead of themselves."

A Boston law enforcement told CNN, "We got him," but won't clarify whether that means a suspect has been identified or arrested.

Some federal sources said it was even too early to say investigators had identified the suspect, but several sources in Boston told CNN that they have a clear identification.

The back-and-forth developments came after a chaotic day in which investigators revealed more details about the makeup of the bombs and apparently unrelated scares over letters containing ricin gripped the nation's capital.
