Many people do. They serve sorta the same purpose, to store bullets in a way that can be 'loaded' into a gun faster than fingertips.

But the technical difference is that a magazine contains a spring that pushes each bullet into place, while clips are passive holders.

Its a big deal to some folks.

Problem is clips and magazines are the same thing.

No, they're not.

I've been calling them the same for as long as I can remember. I'll look it up.

A "clip" is a strip of metal that has sides folded over to hold a number of rounds. You used a clip to reload weapons that do not use magazines.

Thanks again Hollywood for spreading stupidity.

Not all magazines are detachable.
However many people use the terms interchageably

As in stripper clips.

Magazines feed cartridges into the weapon by some feed mechanism in the magazine. A clip does not have such.

That's a small difference. The spring in the magazine.

Why focus on what some people think she might have stopped herself from saying, at the expense of the idiotic horseshit that actually did come out of her mouth?

Unless that gaff came out of the mouth of someone with a capital R after his/her name. Don't forget that part.

Wow, when did the R's throw the soldiers to their deaths? I must have missed that one.

The total asses are the voters of California who keep sending this senile twit back to Washington.

Perhaps if you knew how a senator got to be a senator you would not say such a dumb thing.

No they are not. A clip has no moving parts. A magazine is made up of the box the follower and the follower spring.
An 03'springfield has an internal magazine that is loaded via a stripper clip. A m1 rifle uses a clip. A m14 has an external magazine which can be loaded via stripper clips absent the weapon.

Huh. Interesting.

The House had 223 R's and 1 I. Yet, the bill passed 297 - 133 (with 3 not voting). How is it just the R's sent the soldiers to their deaths when there were only 215 "Aye" votes among the R's? 297 - 215 = 82. How is it that 82 D's voted "Aye" for the Iraqi War Resolution in the House, but the D's bear no responsibility for sending soldiers to their deaths?

The Senate. That's where the D's did their darnedest, right? The Senate had 50 D's to 49 R's. Easy to block, right? Well, 48 R's voted "Aye." They had to convince 11 D's to vote "Aye" and pass it 60 - 40. Well, obviously, they were able to get at least 11 (considering the lone I voted "nay"). They got 29 (out of 50) D's to vote "aye." Yet, once again, it was only the R's that sent the soldiers to their deaths.

This is perfect evidence that you are wearing partisan blinders.

I'm interested in seeing where you're going with this, Thompsonx.
