YourBigDaddy67 -> Microsoft calling (4/20/2013 9:35:10 PM)

Due to my job, my company shall remain nameless, I get to hear a lot of fraud complaints. I recently got a call where the gentleman was defrauded for over $200 dollars. The premise of the call was exactly what had happened to me a few months ago, but I had sense enough to hang up. I have a Prepaid cell phone. So No one has my number unless I give it to them. There is no name that is associated with my number in any data base simply for that reason and that's why I like it because of privacy. I got this call on my phone, and didn't check the caller Id, I immediately heard the international call echo that most of them have. I said "Hello" and this Hindu voice came on and told me that he was representing Microsoft and that they had been monitoring my computer and that they had noticed problems with it. I stopped and told him, Really is that Right?? "Oh Yes Sir, that is correct" I told him well dude I am an IT tech with 18 years Plus experience and told him to go pedal his lied to some 70 year old who has no idea about what is going on with their computer. Then Hung up on him. Now, here's the thing, obviously I didn't fall for it, Even if it was M$ they wouldn't have known who they were calling, what my number was and how to coordinate the information. Poor fella that fell for the scam lost 200 bucks to them. but you think if they call 500 people a day and even 5% fall for the scam they have made $5000 and at the current exchange rate they just made 269750.00!!! Hell being a fake tech pays better than being a real one!
