Didn't know this before a nice young woman asked what the funny taste was. I had recently eaten asparagus. Sorry for the funny taste, but glad she mentioned it. Live long enough and you learn things.

The human body goes to great lengths to maintain the sodium level in the body. Blood levels between 135 and 148 MEQ/L are usually maintained unless something is wrong. Takes a lot to greatly change that, and wouldn't be healthy. And of course semen is going to reflect that.

As Gloria suggests, try citrus fruits and avoid asparagus if the taste bothers you. (Or pretend it's like a salty pretzel and have a beer with it

)

I don't know any facts why it is. However I can give you my own assessment. My first boyfriend tasted salty all of the time. My Dom(second) did when we first met. After we moved in together and I was cooking it changed. Became much sweeter.
Doug, his does definately change but it never really is salty. It definately depends on what you are eating.

So, my idea is, if you're young..or just eating too much crap(junk food) its going to be salty. When we are young, we eat junk. As we start to age we start taking better care of our bodies and eat better. The taste starts to improve.

Smile could have something, perhaps the body just needs to dump some sodium from time to time. That is its way.
