International Searches and Relocations - 4/22/2013 5:59:52 PM

Have only recently joined this site and forum and need a bit of advice if anyone has any.

I am a 51 year old lifestyle Dominant (wish I could say Master or Owner but find I am partner-less for the 1st time in quite a few years!!) with bags of experience etc etc etc...

Since I was last seeking/looking through a BDSM site I have relocated to, of all places, NICARAGUA and things have been a bit 'slow' on the finding a local partner front, although there have been a few... mostly transient 21st century hippie types/backpacker crowd which (except for 2 notable individuals) have generally been un-fulfilling and/or short-term.

I've posted up a fairly comprehensive profile (DJdeLS), photos etc and am not getting any significant traffic, messages, views etc (not even scammers/fakes/flakes...!) Messages I send out are read on average 50% of the time of which less than 5% actually view my profile and less than 1% send a reply. I consider myself reasonably skilled at spotting fakes/flakes so that may be why I don't have much traffic from them. I was a regular on Alt (Sklavenhandler) from 1997 through 2003 and had reasonable 'luck' as globe travelling Dom, but the site changed significantly over the years and I'd thought I try CM before rebuilding a profile there.

One of the problems I have is that CM does not list Nicaragua as a selection for country of origin so I have had to use my second country of residence BERMUDA and place a disclaimer note in the profile description. I have emailed Support about this but as yet do not have a reply.

So my question: Would any of you have the time (or inclination) to view my profile and perhaps give some suggestions on how to increase traffic, hits, or successful initiation of correspondence?

Status: offline 		I would first, maybe write to CM and ask them to add Nicaragua to their list. It seems odd that it's not listed. WTF? If you can't get it listed, can you maybe list your country as Costa Rica or some other close country? I understand Nicaragua is a big place, but you could go on to explain in your profile where you are actually from. I would think that there are others near you with the same issue who would have to search under the same terms that you do.

Status: offline 		DJ, the only thing I did not care for regarding your profile was the uncomfortably bright green background of the narrative. Hurt my eyes and brain.

The rest seems fine to me. You come across as direct, kind, reasonable, sane, and specific and rational about relational desires and the geographical logistics involved.

Puedo hablar en Espanol. Quieres hablar conmigo?!

littlewonder...have already send a message to the CM Support team... but a week plus still no response. I had thought about using Costa Rica and I did see a couple of profiles that use Managua or Nicaragua as the town and use CR for the country.... but ... naw them Ticos annoy me (it's a historical national love/hate thing) ¡Viva La Patria!

About that bright green, DJ, I suppose you could call it eye-catching, the only thing is I need it to give me my eyes back....I kinda need them, yanno!

Status: offline 		Well, I was curious and went ahead & searched female subs in Costa Rica, Hondorous, El Salvador, Belize, Panama...and there is an EXTREMELY limited number of "recent" profiles...maybe 20 in total. That may be why Nicaragua is not on the drop down list..no interest. I would change your location because the women who are searching in Bermuda...are probably not interested in that far of a relocation unless they have no ties to the island (I think you said you are only there for 2 months of the ear?). The other thing is...any time you start mentioning relocating out of a country women are going to be leary. There is so much going on with human trafikking that it could be setting off "alarms"

I also checked on FL and neither Hondorous or Nicaragua has much in the "numbers" of people or events...Oddly enough..while practically nothing here, Costa Rica has quite a showing

the first thing I thought was "what's with the obscure/random beginning?" What does this mean? " Normal 0 21 false false false ES X-NON..." Otherwise, I believe your profile is lovely. I would imagine that women are instructed/expected to be submissive where you are; so maybe find someone who looks vanilla, but is open minded, and flexible to walk the relationship path with you.
Finding someone to relocate to another country adds a significant degree of difficulty to anyone seeking a relationship, even though you are handsome.

Status: offline 		I don't know if this is going to be helpful or not but I wanted to throw this out there regarding contacting Support. Recently CM has had a number of issues on the forums and receiving errors when trying to connect to the site. With this disturbance in mind, I'm thinking Support is probably backed up to their eyeballs with folks contacting them about the problems. Your message to Support is probably in chronological order behind a ton of others at this time.

It's not much, but it might be an explanation as to why a response is taking so long. I'm sure they will be helping you as soon as they can.

Status: offline 		Thanks for continuing feedback.... I guess being truthful/honest is a bit of a drawback in my situation... ahhh welll... so is life!

As for using Bermuda... it is my family home and we have "been there" since 1635 or so, although the family does have generational roots to Canada and the UK... fresh blood for the gene pool.... that ol' small town small island thing.... ;)

My profile header annoys the crap out of me (too).... " Normal 0 21 false false false ES X-NON..." .... No freakin' idea.... can't get rid of it.... again am awaiting a reply from the other sides support team.... hopefully I'm moving up in whatever algorithm / priority list they use over there.

and myotherself... I'm beginning to think my sanity needs to be re-evaluated... BDSM Lifestyler moving to a Central American banana republic? What was I thinking???
Ohh yeah... I remember... horses, organic coffee and crops (I grow 20+ kinds of organic vegetables), free range organic beef, chicken pork, forests wild-life, etc etc.... one of these days.

Current plans include a trip to the UK and Europe during the summer on a 'scouting' mission... wish me luck!

It looks like you may have composed your profile in Microsoft Word and then copied the content from Word and pasted it into the editor here. That can cause problems with the version of TinyMCE the site uses. It actually may also partially contribute to the lack of response: depending on the browser being used to view it, the preview of your profile can currently appear to be either gibberish or blank.

There is a "Paste from Word" option that may work to clean up the content you want to paste from Word. Alternatively, you could, as an intermediate step, paste into a plain text editor first to eliminate Word's extra formatting, then copy from the plain text editor into the site's editor. Skipping the copy and pasting process entirely and just typing into the site's editor should also work.

I originally composed a short 'signup' draft on the site.... copied it out to word to edit and then c&p'd back the update a few hours later... so that certain seems like where the glitch could be.

Hadn't considered that other browsers might not display the profile in a recognizable format.... Thanks for that bit of advice!!!

.... will take a look and see how to apply one of fixes suggested.... (and possibly mute the colour to save Dusky's's eyes at the same time... LOL)

On a serious note... really not getting any interesting traffic/messages.... although more sent messages are getting read now that the I managed to tweak the profile with the help for the advice above.... and a few more viewing the profile... but few genuine replies.

Status: offline 		Well DJ, I have to echo what others have said. One of the best new Dom profiles I've seen in a long time. However, it can be slow going in the land of fem subs, so don't feel disheartened if You don't get a lot of instant interest. I am inclined to think Your best bet would be finding an open-minded local girl, which would mean dating a few and seeing if You get the feeling of natural submissive tendencies in any of them. At least being an experienced Dom, You'd know what You were looking for and would spot it if it was there. You're a very good-looking guy so I doubt it would be hard to start flirting and trawling a net!

I wish You the best of luck though, welcome to the boards and please don't be a stranger. We could do with another sane male Dom!

The one thing is that you won't get many emails from femsubs. Most femsubs tend to wait for the Doms to contact them. So you're going to have to make the first move. To a femsub, a look at your profile may be what they consider their "first move". It's kinda like in real life when a girl glances over and smiles at a hot guy and then turns away quickly when he glances in response and this goes on until he approaches her to talk to her. If he doesn't approach, she moves on or continues to flirt with him from a distance, hoping and praying he makes a move.
