BTW, BRB, LMAO, and of course the classic LOL, among so many others. I think it was Tim Minchin that suggested most people should probably use MAS instead of LOL - "mildly amused smirk" - since most people don't actually laugh out loud. I think we could also use an intermediate 'BAC', or 'barely audible chuckle'. What acronym would you like to add to the list?

I could not agree more with the "LOL" thing. Gawd! That drives me nuts; especially when people use it, all the time LOL Anyway, I don't know if I have any truly useful suggestions but, there's a few I'd like to see some more of: (D)o (I) (L)ook (L)ike (I) (G)ive (A) (F)uck? (DILLIGAF) (A)re (Y)ou (S)moking (C)rack? (AYSC) (I)'m (S)orry (B)ut (I)'m (N)ot (I)nterested (ISBINI) [That looks a little bit like the ISBN number on books. LafayetteLady, I LOVE that picture. That and one about seeing noises after drinking coffee mixed with red bull. Michael, I love your suggestions. I could really use some of those at times. I usually use FYI, but is more of an inside joke since, to me, it stands for Fuck You Idiot.

Thanks. I've been waiting for a reason to post that one! I haven't seen the other (hint, hint). FYI has been around long before the internet, though, so I don't qualify that as text speak. But I do like your definition.

The one I actually hate now is TTYL. My ex used it to end conversations that he did not wish to finish. Now if anyone uses it with me, I freak out!

We've used PITA (Pain In The Ass) to describe the customers who constantly call us with nonexistent/unsolvable problems with their cars or financing. Granted, I've used that one for years as a catch-all for the problem children I've encountered in my life.
