MistressDarkArt -> Android App For Sheet Music Display (4/24/2013 6:48:18 PM)

My band is considering using Android tablets on music stands for displaying our sheet music when we perform. We have several 'set lists' used in rotation at various venues, and it's getting really cumbersome to physically re-copy different tune-sets into a paper folder and grab the right one for the performance.

So, two questions:

1. Do you have a preference for an app that will do this?

2. Do you have a preference for a generously sized Android tablet to run this app?

Thanks, y'all!

I don't have a preference for apps, as I haven't looked at them yet. I was playing with my dad's ipad, and one of the problems I was having was turning the page. One swipe across the screen would sometimes scroll through much more than one page. Frustrating when you only have a couple of beats to turn the page.

Are you looking at apps that let you cut and paste music together (ie. tune sets for a country dance), or just have the sheet music as a jpeg? I'd be curious to know what you find that works. I have a blackberry playbook, and would love to be able to have all my sheet music in one device. I'm not sure if the playbook would be too small of a screen. I'll have to try it out.

lovethyself, apparently there is a usb double foot pedal available that pages forward, back, up and down. One more thing to think about while playing. Right now we tape long pieces together and spread the out on the stand...also cumbersome when they get to 3-4 pages!
