Just for the civilians on collarme, there is a certain hierarchy in the US Military.
The greatest you can achieve is to become a US Army Ranger.
Next lowest Military life form are the US Army Special forces, the Green Berets.
This is followed by those people good enough for the Army, but not good enough for the Rangers.
Then there are the Marines, decent soldiers but not good enough to be the best.
Followed by the Navy. (Someone has to haul the Marines to the beaches.) And the Air Force, since someone has to haul the Airborne Rangers to where they are needed.
Then you have fighter pilots, Navy, Air Force and Marines, basically flying computer geeks that let high tech do the fighting.
Bomber Pilots exist to aid the ground troops with air support.
Navy submariners, the US military lunatic troops, I mean who wants to get on a boat DESIGNED to fucking sink?
Marine and Army Artillery forces, they are supposed to help ground troops, however there is the old saying, If artillery can fall short, the artillery guys will do it every time.
Coast Guard, someone has to get the drug runners, and protect the US from drunken pleasure boaters.
