You are purposefully misunderstanding the point we are trying to make in order to continue to justify your choice. I've no idea if that was the problem or not, I'm only saying if it had been me it would be a BIG problem. I love my cats too, but I would never dream of abandoning a romantic weekend because my cat meowed in the phone. That's just pretty damn wierd.

I'm a guy who loves cats.  They are a bit gamy and older ones can be tough, but if you chop the meat finely and use a tomato sauce, they are wonderful.

I had a cat for 17 years.  He died a few months ago.  I know whats its like to love a pet...but damn...I used to go on vacation and have someone come in and feed him and fill the water and pet him etc.  I cant imagine coming home because the pet sitter told me he was feeling pissy without me there. 

The whole story smacks of bullshit.  Im sorry.  Even the way Vanessa's name was thrown in and mentioned that she is a member at CM, as if to prime the reader for her arrival.  I read every word of the post and its dripping with amatuer romance novel drivel.

Ah yes. And herein lies the troubles with most of the people on this website. Everyone else is wrong. Only they are right. Some see it as a joke. Others as some kind of extra-cirricular fantasy. Yanno, I have three cats, and I love them with all my heart.  In fact, I could show you equally adorable photographs and tell you equally touching stories of my own "babies."  But if someone were to call me and tell me they were having temper tantrums and I needed to come home and deal with them, I'd be telling that someone to get a grip.  In fact, when I go on vacation, my cats stay home with the birds, someone checks on them every couple days, and they do just fine.  But when I'm home, they follow me around the house just like the dogs do.
 
To me, the fact that you left a "first date" with someone to go tend to cats that were neither in danger nor ill is just a little weird, and if I had been the Domme in question, your leaving would have been the end of it.  I wouldn't even have bothered keeping up the facade of emails and phone calls.

Yep.  What she said.  I have 3 cats, a ferret, 2 rescue cats and a rescue ferret, and all have the highest priority in my household.  If it came down to whether they ate or I ate, they would eat; if it came to evacuating in an emergency without my animals, just forget it!  But ditch a date right in the middle (of a hot scene, no less!) because they were misbehaving?  HUH???!!!!!  That's just... weird, in my opinion.

Lady Morgynn, that's just what I was thinking! Ansawering your celphone in the middle of a scene or during sex is just plain rude. As Captain Hook would say, "Bad form Peter. Bad form." Come to think of it, ansawering your celphone at any point during a date (especially a first date!) is not a particularly enchanting thing to do.

While many Dommes would indeed enjoy reading a well written letter as opposed to a 2 sentance statement, most of the flowery nonsense like your first post, slavekyle, gets deleted, generally before I get through the first paragraph. And as well, I have my own "baby" kitten Sugar. While I absolutely adore her, I do not abandon my work or priorities if she has a hissy. Especially when I've driven somewhere for a purpose... Work maybe, a family emergency, or a session. As far as I'm concerned, cuddles and a cat treat will make up for most injustices done to a cat, but the same thing cannot be said about your average Domme. For me, unless my sub was an on call ER doctor, paramedic, or other such emergency service worker, the cell would have been either turned off or set on silent. To everyone: please do correct me if I'm wrong, but Dommes appreciate and expect to be treated with respect, whether the sub is a girl, boi, boy or man. While I perhaps think that if I were the Domme in question I would have said something along the lines of "after some consideration, your actions and decisions aren't what I seek in a sub, best of luck to you." My decision would have ultimately been the same as hers. I must say, however, in all fairness, the Domme in question should have TOLD the sub up front that she was no longer interested.  The "why" would have been nice too, but overall good manners and being decent would mandate telling someone, "thanks, but no thanks" when you have lost interest, no matter what the reason.
