So I get this letter on Fet:

I am a mistress from India, New to BDSM.

I have a servant, who is completely dependent on me in terms of Food, Living and work. He is unaware about BDSM but i dont care.

Since he is dependent and week, i wanna torture him and he has no other option than bearing the pain.

Looking for some one who could help me torture him.

Would you be interested to help me?

I wrote back saying:

Would I participate in non consensual torture? No. . . you're a fucking idiot.

Occasionally your see this kind of abuse in the name of BDSM, especially in Yahoo groups. Often it isn't real, but one time they really did have some mail order bride trapped in a cage for several months.

Anyway, I looked for a "report spam" button and could find none. I really don't think much of that piece of shit software they run Fetlife on but seriously, is there no way to report spam or someone soliciting illegal activities on Fet?

Send email to "[email protected]". It is located in the Terms of Service. Or "report at fetlife.com" replacing the "at" with the cutsy cursive "a" located on the #2 key...

Alrighty then. I have an account on Fet, but rarely go there. I've found too many people to be barely a step above Slave Farm, a bit unrealistic and fantastical. Of course, I also don't really find the site easy to navigate, and I might be missing the "normal" people, who knows.

Yeah navigation is a pain, it gets a bit easier once you've added people you've met though, more eyes on event listings/topics etc

UK side is still split between various sites with the departure of IC, no one's really settled on one

For topics and discussion I prefer here

I was introduced to FetLife several years ago and actually stumbled onto this site by accident. FL is easier to navigate and tolerate if you follow people you've actually met in person or pretty much stick with groups relevant to you. For example, I'm subscribed to the groups attached to the munch and play party I go to, a couple of "How to build toys" groups, and a Doctor Who group. Hope that helps.

Totally unrelated: My spell checker wanted to correct FetLife to Fertile. [:D]

I think the only time I go to my fetlife account is when I get a notice that someone has emailed me there which is maybe once a year or if I'm trying to find out some info about a local event. So yeah, I probably go there maybe 5 times a year at that.

The colors hurt my eyes.

I grudgingly use it, but only to keep up with the LOCAL GROUPS' activities (I wish CollarMe had options for Local Groups). In comparason, the day I joined CollarMe, within 3 hours My inbox had several pages of messages (I was up all night for several nights straight trying to catch up)...and they've been non-stop ever since, It's like a BEEHIVE here...whereas on that OTHER site I only get the occasional message if I post on a forum, or actually WRITE to someone first...and even then it may take awhile to get a response. It's kind of a dead zone there...and most of the friends I have on there are also on CM, so why bother? Not slamming, just saying that's MY experience.

LOL, Fetlife support on collarme forums seems strange.

Fetlife has it's place and there are a ton of active forums. You just have to get used to the format but the tools are primitive.

They don't have a trolling engine - i.e. not a dating site. You are supposed to make friends in the forums. I like the trolling function here but there are not a lot of people compared to Fetlife and it is not effective since all the attractive sub females are overwhelmed by fishermen. Plus I am looking for a unicorn. Can really advertise on Fetlife.

I would probably frequent a little more often if it wasn't for the horrible dark background with red and white lettering. For us older folks, that really hurts our eyes. I end up with headaches. I feel like I'm on a teenage goth site every time I visit there. [:'(]

If you start by clicking on "events". Then under events you click on "events near me" you will get a big start on finding the "normal" kink crowd.

It was only after meeting people in person and adding them that I found other things through their profiles.
Drilling through profile trees and looking at the groups that people belong to can sometimes be a fruitful pastime.

I had been out of the scene for a long time and was trying to look up old friends. Some I found, but their profiles were very stale.
I only found them by drilling through friends lists.

Fetlife is a big place and hard to search through. Good for general networking. Not good for personals or looking for individuals so much since the search is so clumsy.

Wow, I must be smarter then the average bear or something, FetLife is a breeze for me to figure out. Also lets keep in mind it is a social networking site, not a meat market like CM. The dark background makes for more comfortable reading. Stark white backgrounds over time are rather blinding, at least to my eyes they are.

Also on FL there is a group called Return to Sender where a lot of people (2k+) post PMs they get just like the one in the OP. You know what is really funny? I've seen far worse on RtS, and you want to know where they mostly come from? Here, and OKCupid (OKStupid.)
