I don't know what the fuck advertisers are thinking.

Right now there is a norelco commercial airing that has the guy saying "I'd Fuck me" with the fuck bleeped.....How is that an appropiate ad? I am far from a prude, but it is as commercial, come on. How about "I'd do me"?

Fook me?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Pepsi withdrew Mountain Dew advert... (5/2/2013 9:12:11 AM)

I didn't see it as racist as much as I saw it as just fucking stupid.

Mt Dew ads are usually entertaining. This one fell way short.

You're worried that Pepsi and Mountain Dew are offensive to goats....

(Don't buy Pepsi or Mountain Dew).

Problem solved.

Glad I could help.

(Move on).

The Mascul-Out was a parody, but they were all funny as hell. Especially the one where the dad(?) was handing money to the girl.

So what's with that? Did he think it was funny and just missed, or was there a more subtle statement he was trying to make that got lost. On its face, seems pretty offensive of an ad - and not particularly funny (I didn't find it funny).

On the other hand the "give him wood" ad from Owner59's link - very funny (I thought).

Humor is a personal thing - but one thing is for sure, if it's an ad, and most people find it offensive - it's probably a mistake.

DesideriScuri -> RE: Pepsi withdrew Mountain Dew advert... (5/5/2013 2:27:50 PM)

FR,

The video that was banned was apparently the second (of 2) ad with that theme. The first had the goat threaten the woman if she didn't hand over the Dew. So, a lineup to see if she can pick out her attacker out of a lineup of possible suspects, that included just one goat and the rest black men, takes on a bit more of a racist stereotype when you take into account the first commercial.
