ORIGINAL: MHOO314 sooooo when do You Ladies feel least like a Mistress? When I'm at work. I work as a transplant coordinator. Granted, I DO get to wake whiny surgeons up at 3am and tell them what to do, where to do, be here, do this, do that.....but.... The reality of my job is that I constantly face someone else's loss every day. I cannot control these things, or even try. There are times that I cannot even understand what these folks are going through or comprehend the senselessness of their loss, especially in the case of a child. I can offer my condolances. I can be a listening ear and offer that family the opportunity to make a choice in their life and the life of the loved one they just lost. I enable them to make a choice that is quite honestly, the last exceptional deed that their loved one will do for another while in this life. And I have the privilege to be the steward of that gift, be it a heart, a liver, a set of lungs, a kidney or a cornea, and see to it that it gets to surgeon who will make it become a new life for a lucky recipient. I am SO far from being a mistress at that moment.....
