the most "feminine/powerless" discourse I ever heard is Obama's. Now, when he's READING from teleprompter speeches written by his stuff (and I assume the early Obama was mostly David Axelrod), he sounds almost prophetic (albeit still vapid in terms of content). But when his words come from his own head....it feels like he's trying to make sure he can later retract anything he said. Constant modifiers.... softening everything into jelly... being apologetic... It's like the teleprompter is his dick, and taking it away is castration.

Regarding the gender/power question.... Male and female behavioral differences are observable in every mammalian specie, and in 95% of cases (species, that is), masculine behavior is dominant. We as a society decided to abolish that, but it will be a while before we succeed. Ask a woman to produce a dominant gait.... she will walk like a man, with wide steps and swinging shoulders. This research is sensationalizing the obvious. Though the part about "warm, sensitive.., supportive" as attributes of "the powerless" is hogwash. Some of the most powerless people are also the most cruel; unless you're talking about the situation of FACING power, in which we all tend to be "warm and sensitive".

I couldn't even finish that baloney sandwich, for risk of choking because I was laughing so hard at times. Anyone can present facts or 'research' and still present it/word it in a manner that is total bullshit with just enough truth that most swallow it. Me, I choke... so I am passing on this meal.

That article just said I am either a birth defect, anti social, a man AND A woman or I took personal power or empowerment seriously because I wanted to do what I wanted to do.

Oh Frankie baby... sing to me.

You shouldn't take it so personally.

LOL Did I? I'm sure if you had seen my facial expression, you would know the answer to that.

Well if you could manage to contain your chortling, I'm sure you'd see this article can't say anything about you personally, it draws conclusions based on the results of studies in a attempt to support the title premise, and yes very little of it hits solidly with those conclusions... It is 30 years old.
But it does at least raise interesting questions about what more correct interpretations of those studies would be, and is the concept of femininity rooted in traditional thinking, is it separable from those connotations or by doing so does it bastardise the definition?

And a lot of other things to be sure.

So sorry I didn't add a smiley face, so you would see my humor. I guess you don't know me well enough to know that most everything I say has some hint of humor... my own... or sarcasm. Try it sometime, its fun!

Bottom line... why go off old news and misconceptions to formulate how we progress now when the original was so faulty and has been addressed since then? Update... update.
