My Master has many little nicknames for me. Beyond that, he gave me an actual name, and I'll be getting my name legally changed to it, probably when we get married. The name he picked was just something he felt fit me, and we both like it (also, I had no attachment to my previous name--didn't really care for it.) I find it endearing that he named me--kind of like naming a dog when you buy/adopt it.

I was called Amber, a name for when I dressed up, but she called me it regardless of how I was dressed.

There were a whole host of reasons, links to books (the Fool in Robin Hobb, a fave of mine), protective mythology, symbolism, my Mistress had a symbol of a dragon for her and amber is also known as dragon tears, and it is similar to my real name.

Now we're apart I haven't decided whether to keep it or not, I suspect I will drop it.

Once upon a time I was also Grissom, due to having a Forensic Science degree and my partner at the time was a Lady Heather... Fun times

My Master renamed me. He thought about what he wanted to name me for a long time, and decided on it a few months before my collaring ceremony. Around family and his co-workers I go by my birth name, but at home or any kink-related event I go by my slave name. Or Kitty, because I am a kitty, so he calls me Kitty a lot. But, that is not my given slave name. His view was I had changed who I was to be his, so he gave me a new name to go with the new me.

Master named me violet for my passionate love of all things purple (hair, nails, bag and quite often clothes!), and because i love flowers (first degree was in Botany). Though i am definitely NOT a shrinking violet ... not in size nor in shyness.

I like to rename subby boys too but tend to only do so when the relationship gets more serious. I'm still looking for a boy to give the perfect name to ... neil *grin*

The Mouse is the Mouse, or Slut, or Cunt or The lilone, lil buddy (Stolen from The Skipper) or on rare occasions,monkey butt... but nicknames aren't things I give anymore. They just come,organically and holistically evolving until they became a part of us because they fit.
As mentioned above, she's the mouse for a number of reasons. Her read Daddy called her pocket mouse, as did her best friend. She's petite, teeny, prone to skittering away rather than confronting, took years to get her to learn to eat from my hand....plus she's cute as a button.
But in sex, she's slut, whore,cum-dump, all sorts of yumminess.
And she's always an "it," yeah, that hits her hard in all sorts of wonderful love/hate dichotomous ways.

The key thing for me is that searching for nicknames is kinda futile, I need to let them emerge and I usually roll through one or two before I find the one that really fits. Then that one, it stays.

I don't have a nickname. I get called all sorts of things, some nice and some not-so, depending on the moment. My favorite one, though, is when he calls me spunky.

Thirded, if that's a word.
I was never in a scene-related relationship long enough to append a pet name to one of my subs/slaves, nor was I of a mind to. Had a couple that requested I refer to them in a certain way, but that's about it. Most of the time (in scene, of course), it was the usual monikers you'd expect.

It's not really a nick name, but I have changed slave's names. When a slave starts in my house, or anyone in a new relationship, they start with new goals, new protocols and sometimes they are joining a family, a new family. I think it is nice to have an entirely new name to match the new identity. My favorite rename signified new beginnings, "anastasia". The meaning of the name Anastasia is resurrection. The family and house is called Phoenix which also means rebirth. Anastasia Phoenix seemed a righteous name for someone starting a new life.

It means that it's a poly household and they have given their home a name. It's usually more of a Leather thing if I'm not mistaken but I've also seen Goreans use it a lot.

My last Master called me his Jaguar. Because, he said, I was just like a Jag - awesome, really cool to own, but terribly expensive, and spent half my time in the shop (I have medical issues, which were exacerbated when I got pregnant.)
