Where exactly were they? By this time, the fleet's movements can no longer be considered secret. It's history, for the most part. I'm curious, and frankly I don't have the necessary info to get this information. It's not like you can Google fleet movements.

The reports by the various investigators. No US combat aircraft were closer than NAS Sigonella so the 6th fleet CVBG were not close by. The reports also indicate no rapid deployment forces, except for the ones that did actually respond from Tripoli, were no closer than the air assets.

I was listening to CSPAN last night on the way home from work, and they had a hearing on. One State Dept guy who'd been ipart of the response - maybe this guy? I didn't catch everyone's name/job - was saying that the State Dept actually flew in some Special Forces guys right away who were stationed elsewhere in Africa. But he said the military (not White House) overruled the State Dept and wouldn't let the soldiers deploy, so they stated in Tunisia while the State Dept civilian guys flew into Benghazi.

Edit: Tripoli, not Tunisia.

Status: offline 		yeah wow, some people just have no clue. This is the first time in 30 years a U.S. Ambassador was killed. It was blatantly covered up and the President. He lied over and over again blaming the incident on a video that clearly had nothing to do with the attack. President Obama and Hilary Clinton looked the victim's family members in the eyes and told them this was caused by a video, then they locked up the producer of the video and called it a day. That kind of disregard for the truth, the blatant lies to the American people and especially to the families of the victims is vile and disgusting.

To top it all off, there is now clear evidence that help could have been sent well before the second attack on the Consulate and lives would have been saved, but some one in the Administration denied repeated calls for help.

Help was sent and did arrive before the mortar attack. That is the actual fact.

So far, as much as I can tell,the rightist lunatic narrative is that the President didn`t want to acknowledged a terrorist attack because he was running for election yada yada......


But that`s just rightist bull shit.

The President did act correctly and didn`t hide anything....



The 2nd attack............. was repelled, by the CIA agents and their Lybian employee/militiamen stationed in secret compound a few blocks from the consulate.



That was the same secret compound,BTW,that the republicans leaked....... on national television to our enemies .........at their pre-election shame hearings....



There was no need to sent a DELTA force from frick`n Italy......everyone had already been evacuated


If there are any unanswered questions...please ask them here and I`ll answer them......I was actually following the news during the election....

And we are left with the fact that Clinton was not informed that it was a 'terrorist' attack, who exactly took responsibility for it?  What terrorist group?  Were they wearing some al Queda polo shirts or what?  How was that identified?  Cuz Hicks didn't say that.  They didn't know a fuck of alot at 2am.   But you can use the word 'terrorist'.  Was it a 'terrorist' attack on say, that kid in Florida?  Was the death of Khaddafi a 'terrorist' attack? 

I mean, we concern ourselves globally with the state-sponsored terrorism, don't we?

One is more circumspect in diplomacy globally than your average house teabagging cretin.

OK, lets get some accurate information. Who gave ambassador Rice her "talking points" and set up 5 different newscasts to "tell us what happened". And who gave the order for the military to stand down. Who has the authority to "overrule" the senior general grade officer in the area? Why did the Lybian President know it was a terrorist attack and our own President seemed to be clueless? Don't
they communicate? According to testimony from Admiral Mullins and Panetta, Obama made NO calls asking how things are proceeding after being informed of the attack? What kind of morons don't have adequate resources available to ward off a possible attack when the British, the Red cross and others moved out because of hostile actions? DUHHHH, Didn't that date ring a bell in someones mind?
