This article is just the first I've found but they are reporting on in on CNN. Three girls. Apparently someone is saying the guy was a school bus driver, other children have been seen around the house, but three young ladies have been rescued and I am sure the details will evolve as this gets investigated.

I am very sorry to hear this has happened to them. Glad they are safe now.

On another note, anybody else want to take bets on how fast the terms BDSM lifestyle, sex slave, M/s, or anything else that we use in our consensual endeavors get splashed all over the news? I've got a horrible feeling that it's coming.

I've heard more about pedophiles than any relation to bdsm. Though one mother thought her daughter had been stolen for slavery. Turns out, that wasn't the case. Hopefully things don't go there. If anything, we need changes concerning pedophiles.

For the moment... I am just glad he is locked up, the ladies (now) have been found and am thinking a guy named Charles is amazing! They cut his interview the last time they showed it. The last thing he said was.. When a white girl rushes into the arms of a black man, you know something is wrong. He is quite the character... with character! He didn't have to get involved, but he did. He didn't run and call police. He got the door open and saved them. Bravo to a hero!

They showed a very happy Amanda and her daughter in the hospital. Just amazing. Sad, happy... surreal.

Definitely sounds like one. I'm glad he was there.

Is the part I put in bold what they cut from the interview? It wouldn't surprise if they did. Sadly, I think Charles is probably right about that.

Yes, that's what they cut off the interview. The way he said it was funny. His whole interview showed a cool guy with quite the sense of humor. He was keepin it real. lol

Well, it's good that they were rescued. I can't say what they'll do to the scum who did this.

Coincidentally, I just head of a local case of two separate attempted abductions yesterday. One was 15 and the other was 13, but both were able to fight off their would-be abductors and get away. One was arrested and the other is at large.

It wasnt just one guy, it was 3 brothers who have now been charged and are in jail..

According to the last report I read, the girls had 5 pregnacies.. the men beat them to make them lose the babies.. one baby girl survived..

now if that part is true, i wonder if they will be charged with murder (in some states isnt hurting the mother causing her to lose the baby considered murder of the baby?)

These girls are so strong, especially after being held for so long and what they went thru..

Yes, thank god that ordeal is over for them....but sad to hear (at least it came in the news over here yesterday) that one of their mothers died in 2006...

The best coverage of this case I've seen is tonight on All In w/Chris Hayes on Msnbc. It's on 8 & 12am again. (PST)

I think police have decided only one Castro(Arial) brother was the criminal and released the other two.
This Castro was reported as both an extremely violent/homicidal wife abuser and kidnapper of his own children WHILE he had these girls imprisoned. One of those daughters is in prison for (paranoia- driven... as in"he's coming for my baby") slashing the throat of her own baby. Castro and his daughter were also the last to see DeJusus before she was taken. Police never investigated him. Never even tried to connect any dots. Even after a neighbor reported naked woman crawling in this backyard. A house within walking distance of where all three girls had disappeared.

I think this case is going to fuel more discussion of domestic violence/women's rights. Also more discussions on the cavalier distinctions police make between kidnapped/ missing and "runaway" teens. Hope so.

When I read and hear about stories like this, of course I am glad that the women were rescued, but part of me wonders what kind of animals these men were.

Did the animals have wives and children at home?
Were they leading normal seemingly perfect lives?
Did they tell their significant others they were going to have a beer with friends, than go to that home and abuse those women, then go home and tuck little people into bed and have sex with their wives?
Did they attend church and leave and go abuse those women, than go home for Sunday dinner with the folks?

It just makes me wonder about many humans in general.

Unfortunately, their ordeal isn't quite over yet. They'll have to replay it at the trial, and for the rest of their lives. I wish them all the best on healing after this ordeal. What some of us see as a harmless, fun fantasy was their daily nightmare for a decade.

And I also hope that police agencies around the world look at this and scrutinize some of their "oddball calls" again. Perhaps there are more out there. The Cleveland PD has some serious explaining to do, and hope they take the high road and admit they screwed up and take actions to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

dont hold yer breath.. cops wont admit they screwed up..

and the cops wont change regarding oddball calls.. they actually returned one of Dahmers victims to his door and the boy ended up dead as a result.. that was over 20 years ago, so what has changed/improved since?

My heart goes out to all three but most of all to the child that was born into it all.

I agree MC what we find as harmless and fun fantasy, they had to live through it every day. LP I thought that they would link it to BDSM also....glad they have not. Though in my own mind after reading some of the threads here on the forums I did so.

My hope is if he actually caused the death of unborn children that he gets death also and if not that he be put in isolation for the rest of his life.

...we care very much about pretty adolescent girls who disappear into thin air. As we should, of course. But we should also care about men who abuse their wives and children before they go out and find replacements to hide in the basement.

I hate to say it, but you're right. The sad fact will probably be they coil up in a defense posture and try to bury the evidence rather than fixing the problem. Too many agencies get cynical about their jobs, it seems. In too many places it's become an "us" versus "them" mentality, and their only goal in to make it to retirement and the sweet,sweet bennies the union gets them.

I decided I wanted to understand this a bit more. I got some books on human trafficking and Jaycee Dugard's book and am in the middle of it. What these young ladies went through seems far more severe, but I am not finished with the book and the details of this current case aren't fully known.

It's hard to understand the how's and why's of it all and mind bending on how to help them, but I hope they can do as well as Smart and Dugard are doing. I'm not as worried about Amanda. The other two, I think are going to have more serious problems from the looks of things at the moment.

I'd like fifteen minutes with that monster.
